What are your favorite Eagles songs? Personally, I have loved this group since the Seventies and some of their music just practically moves me to tears. I can count on one hand the number of albums I have never been without and Hotel California is one of them. Dark Side of the Moon is another. Face it, they rock.
Personally, mine are:
1. Wasted Time - Hotel California
2. The Last Resort - Hotel California
3. Learn to be Still - Hell Freezes Over
4. Take it Easy - Eagles
5. Victim of Love - Hotel California
Oh, and I don't want to hear any of that 'I don't like the Eagles' crap either. If you don't, then keep it to yourself, because I ain't listening
From 'The Last Resort'...
You can leave it all behind
and sail to Lahaina
just like the missionaries did,
so many years ago
They even brought a neon sign:
"Jesus is coming"
Brought the white man's burden down
Brought the white man's reign
Who will provide the grand design?
What is yours and what is mine?
'Cause there is no more new frontier
We have got to make it here
We satifsy our endless needs and
justify our bloody deeds,
in the name of destiny
and in the name of God
And you can see them there,
on Sunday morning
stand up and sing about
what it's like out there
They call it paradise
I don't know why
You call someplace paradise,
kiss it goodbye

It's got to be;
1. 'One of These Nights'
2. 'Desperado'
3. 'Tequila Sunrise'
4. 'Dueling Daltans'
5. 'Hotel California'
The Eagles are just the greatest! They have to be the most talented band in the world.

'Take it to the Limit' & 'Hotel California' both send a shiver down my spine no matter how many times I hear them. I like most Eagles stuff including their earliest work with the original line-up. Been a fan since I first saw them on the "Old Grey Whistle Test" back in the early 70s. I went straight out & bought their first album 'Eagles' which is still in my collection of vinyl. This was recorded in London (Abbey Road? ) & produced by Glyn Johns, the Beatles recording engineer.

The Eagles are seriously cool. I took my family to hear them at the old Wembley Stadium in London during their reunion tour in 1996. 80,000 people all joining in with 'wel-come tothe ho-tel ca-lifornia..'. Great.

I always liked the stuff Don Henley or Joe Walsh did on their own much better than together in The Eagles, I always kinda liked "New Kid in Town" though, and "In the City", so I don't really totally hate them I guess, but they are not at the top of my hit parade fer sure.

My band does a pretty hardcore version of Hotel California. Its a lot faster than the original, almost heavy metal style.
