Download and install converters from the FS9 MAKEMDL SDK. As long as you build your model to the FS2002 SDKs, you should have no problem - i.e., FS9 specific part names and animations (VC items like " periscope_tube" , etc) will probably NOT work in FS2K2, but you should be all right.
