I'm back with a new problem, well at least new for me.

A few days ago I read on a forum that if you switch your memory usage from "Programs to System cache", that FS9 would reload faster. This would be useful when using AFCAD, and having to reload to see if the changes where right or not.

The problem is that after changeing the memory to system cache, FS9 will now start to load, the splach screen comes up and then FS9 stops responding, and I have to use task maneger to end FS9.

I've switch back to program cache, uninstalled/reinstalled FS9 and vid drivers (update) several times and still can't get FS9 to load. Sad

I've done a viruse scan, defrag the drive and still no go. FS2k2 is and has been working just fine doing all this on the same h/d.

Is there anything I have overlooked or not done that might help?

Have you checked to see if the FS9.cfg/Scenery.cfg file is messed up?

I'd look there 1st.

Ric B.

EDIT: Sry I should just pint out that yes, I know you have re-installed it several times, but FS can leave files and folder stucture behind.

Ric Thanks for the reply

When I uninstalled FS9, I went to the Microsoft\FS9 folder and delete the FS9 folder.

If I can't get it figuard out soon, I think I might try looking in the REG to see if there is any entries left after an uninstall.

Steve,

To find FS9.cfg read the FAQ at the top of this forum.

No need to reload, just Alt/Tab between them.

Cheers,
Dave

Dave:

Thanks, however in FS9 the changes don't take place untill you restart 2004.

I've done everything I can think of or have read about so far and still FS9 will start to load and then just stop with the splach screen showing.

Grin Got it back  Grin

I finnally got a restore point to work and then reinstalled FS9, and for the most part it is now working, except for ATC. of whitch I have no responce from and my transmissions don't show up in the window when undocked and in the second monitor (again).

Oh well I can work on that, I'm just glad to have it up and flying again Smiley

Two words of advice:

1) Do not switch your memory from Program to System!

2) Frustration breed mistakes!
