i just bought FS2004 the other day and was thinking of adding some scenery to the game so what do you all recommend that is FREE? location doesn't matter, i was just wanting something that adds more than just a few buildings,if possible.

Improved water textures, there are several so best to find what works best with your graphics card
Airport Enviroment Upgrade v6.0, makes your airports really realistic.
The carrier package if naval ops are your thing....

the improved water textures look AWESOME but i can't seem to be able to set my water effects to high in the display options so i don't guess i can use them Sad
i've got some meshes downloaded  though, but i haven't installed them yet....right now,i'm mainly looking for  landmarks/buildings ,etc. ..just stuff that will add a LOT of new scenery to a city but that is FREEWARE.i  seen a cool-looking manhattan scenery addon by aerosoft (and a lot of other stuff too) but it's all  payware and i don't think i want to spend  almost half the price that i paid for the full game just to add detail to ONE area. crazy.

I couldn't tell you if AEU is here or not, I stumbled across it over at AVSIM...just go over there and search for "AEU" and it'll show up.  Definitely one of my favorites.

Great edit, Bob.&&&&&&Google it. &&&&www.google.com

i'll definitely try that one too;i've probably already downloaded a few hundred files and most of them i haven't even unzipped yet. seems like i'm spending more time looking for addons than i am  actually flying. lol.

btw i've added a link below for some cool scenery that i just stumbled across last night if anyone else is interested.  the hawaii2004 addon is all i've tried so far, but i could REALLY tell a difference when flying along waikiki beach.it looks GREAT. check out the before and after pics. there's a few other nice looking addons there as well, and all freeware. versions for both FS2002 and FS2004 too. There's a very lovely freeware replacement airport for Nice, France at http://monsite.wanadoo.fr/vf_air/page4.html
There's also tons of freeware scenery for the Tahiti area. Just search this site for Tahiti.

I also found this site. http://walhalla.mine.nu/fs2004/whatsnew.php
Just click on an area and it gives a very comprehensive list of any freeware available for that area.
