Yeah Nexus, you should not need to reformat. I think Stephen had an issue that not many have. I speak with Michael a few times a week and he said he never had to have anybody reformat. Having to do what Stephen did is not for the weak of heart!  Shocked

Dave

under normal circumstances Dave I would have to agree, but with talking with Michael, I had the utmost confidence in him and followed his recommendations to the letter. He tried initially to work with what I had, and after that did not work, he said he thought a reformat and purge of my system would be necessary. I gave it an evening to think about it, and decided I loved simming enough to go through with it.

I will not be looking back. I even told him, lets go ahead and purge the HD, so he had me back up what I needed to and the following day having backed up probably 80% of what I wanted (the other 20% I either forgot about or could not find), we started, and through his guidance, and ability of talking to someone not computer savvy, I now have a jaw dropping sim.

I cannot give him enough praise, and consider it the best investment of all for anyone that considers simming an indepth hobby.

Plus, under notrmal circumstances I would have been nervous as hell doing what we did, but with Michael, I was not nervous at all.

If you look at it this way, the fee seems like peanuts. I have spent countless hours in my sim, immersing myself in a virtual world that was never really as beautiful as I knew it could have been, and FS-GS has made it so the rest of my time simming will always remain priceless.

lol Nexus. before I had my overhaul done on the PC, I used the freeware PAI. It was a bear to use, though atleast it was free, and since the reformatting of my PC, I wanted to add only freeware I knew was on par with payware, and the best in payware. no more blindly adding this or that to my sim Wink

But yea...its now today Grin

OK I have plenty of aircraft for now, so its time to enhance the visual appeal of the landclass and seasonal texture mesh, so I went shopping at FSGenesis.net and Simmarket.com.

One word of warning, if you are looking for landclass enhancements, FSGenesis files are HUGE and NOT for the 56K faint at heart though you can purchase each landclass update on CD.

The FSGenesis files i bought are over 5 gigs total (5,129,235 KB total for 11 files), so I have been downloading for a while on DSL at roughly 156kb/sec dl its taking roughly an hour for each landclass.

Nice score SaVas!

I just (finally) bought the Captain Sim F-104! I love it!  My new military crate of choice.  Now if I can just wrap my head around the PHI and polish up my landings...

Which brings up my payware count to 2 - Caranado's Cessna Centurion and the F-104. ( Cheesy Opposite ends of the flight envelope! )

Methinks PMDG's 737NG is next - but I'll probably wait until December when I'll have the cash to pick up both packages.

Grin

Edited list:

Aircraft:
aerialfoundry CAF CF-18 Hornet Military Pack 1.0
AeroSoft DHC-2 Beaver
AlphaSim F-101 Voodoo
Carenado Cessna Centurion II
Captain Sim Legendary F-104 Starfighter
Cloud 9 CF-104/F-104G Starfighter
PMDG 737-600/700NG (finally)

Scenery:
Flight1 Ultimate Terrain Canada/Alaska

Utilities:
Anticyclone Active Camera v2.0

Just getting started into the payware aircraft, but I have

1. Carenado Bonanza V35
2. Dreamfleet Piper Archer
3. Carenado Piper Dakota

All three are GREAT planes!!! Grin

Also interested in the Aussim Piper, and the Eaglesoft Citations, anyone have these, and how do you like them????

I have all the Citations, and the Aussim Piper.

Citation X is the best payware Bizjet out there, but a killer on slower PCs, thankfully they do have a non delux version.

The Citation II is a great plane and easier on frames and the sim, and the Aussim piper is a great value as you get 2 varieties, each comes in front wheel pant, all wheel pants, and no wheel pants varieties.

I have:

FSD Panther Navajo

Thats it.

Are there any 'ABSOLUTELY MUST OWN' aircraft out there? I prefer singles and twins, but I might consider something without props.... maybe.
