Hi all,
I had hoped that I would be able to combine the throttle unit from my x-45 (which I like a great deal) with my newly acquired CH Products Fighterstick (as I really don't like the x-45 stick) and Rudder pedals. The x-45 stick part of the set up sits beneath my desk in disgrace...
Things work fine most of the time - I fly CFS2 mainly and it recognises multiple controllers very well. What does happen, though, is that sometimes I find I suddenly lose aileron or elevator control in my stick as if for some reason the input is not getting through to the game properly.
I have tried to rectify this behaviour by messing with System HID settings for each controller as was suggested to me elsewhere but to no avail. Just when I think everything is working fine, the problem occurs again.
I use a fairly old IBM ThinkPad on Windows 98 SE with all controllers connecting via a powered USB port which in turn is connected to the single USB port on the computer itself. Do you think that the problem lies in the USB connections, or could it be some conflict between the two controllers. It's the old kind of USB, i.e. not v2.0. Am I just expecting too much from the old dear?
BTW - I do not use any of the proprietary programming options for either controller, but assign controls directly via CFS2's controller assignments dialog.
Any comments and suggestions gratefully received!
Thanks in advance
