Have been running FS04 with no problems but recently i downloaded afcad 2 for FS04 and didn't realize the FSUIPC version i had from FS02 wouldn't work which i installed and of course it caused an error in FS04 and FS04 shut down. I deleted the old version of FSUIPC from my modules folder and down loaded the 04 version and installed into the FS04 modules folder. However while i no longer got the version wont work error, FS04 at start up still showed a module error and shut down. I tried restarts and deleting the FSUIPC 04 version but FS04 still errors and shuts down at start up.

I know there must be some FSUIPC files that i missed but dont know where or how to find and fix them. I have thought about starting from scratch with an uninstall and reinstall of FS04 but seeings how i spent hours invested in addons Id rather not but will if i have to. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

There are 2 or 3 other files that FSUIPC.dll creates, all in the Modules folder. FSUIPC.ini,  .key and maybe .log. Dont know why they would be a problem if you deleted the .dll, but try deleting them also.

Also make sure you did not inadvertently delete the file FSIU.dll, right above FSUIPC.dll in  the Modules folder. This is an FS9 file.

You might also try forcing a rebuild of the FS9. cfg (see the FAQ at the top of this forum for its location) by MOVING it to a backup location, like your desktop, and restarting FS9.

If that doesnt work, you might also check Dowson's FSUIPC support site for possible solutions.http://forums.simflight.com/viewforum.php?f=54

Cheers

thanks for the help, I believe i may have deleted the FS9 FSIU.dll file. My module folder is empty even with the show hidden files attributes selected.

I'll try the forced rebuild first but if that doesn't get it can i just do a reinstall of FS9 without uninstalling everything to get back the missing dll file?

thanks again a bunch.

You do not have to reinstall all of FS if you look on disk 1 I beleieve you will find the modules folder and you can extract it to a dummy folder than just drag it over to FS 8)
