Hey guys I'm having a little trouble with it.  I bought it a few weeks ago and just started messing around with it this afternoon.  How do I save a repaint so a to not OVERWRITE the plane that I am painting over?  Is there a "save as" option?  I'm a little confused...

...is there any link to a tutorial for it?  thanks!

Steve. I haven't tried FS Repaint. I assume this is for FS2002 or FS2004. The method I use for repainting the old way should work just as well for you. Before starting work, take a copy of the Texture folder of the aircraft. Right-click on the Texture folder & select Copy. Then right-click anywhere in the folder & select Paste. You will now have a new folder alongside the original named Copy of Texture. Rename this folder using the FS folder naming conventions - Texture.3, Texture.green, Texture.myrepaint, whatever - & edit Aircraft.cfg to recognise it as a new variation of the aircraft. Now you can start repainting it.

FS Repaint creates a copy of the textures

Check the FS Repaint Help - "Creating a New Variation"

Right-click on the aircraft name in the list and choose "create a new variation" and this will prompt you to choose the "base" scheme from which to copy the textues, and automatically creates copies of the textures in a new folder, and the aircraft.cfg entry.  Basically, it automates the process Hagar described.

Before you start repainting, you need to right click on the plane you want to edit, in the box on the left, and select "new variation".
