Hi everyone!
On the advice of Dave (Fly2e) I'm posting this for a wider response.
I would like to get FS2004.
We have 2 computers. Here are the specs for each:
1) E-machines 190
Windows XP, Intel celeron, 60GB hard drive, 2.2GHz processor, 512 ram. Nividia G-force FX5200 128mb graphics card.
2) Compaq presario
Windows XP, P4, 80Gb hard drive, 2.6GHZ processor, 256 ram, and I can have the graphics card out of the above - (FX5200 128mb)
Now I'm sure y'all will say go for the compaq and get an extra stick of ram. But how will it work and how what will I get if I don't buy any more ram? I really don't want to buy any if I can get away without it.
Any response is much appreciated. Especially if u have any experience with running the game (if it is possible) in anything under this spec.
The back of the sim box is most missleading _ My specs are double the requirements easily on some things, and yet I'm told it is not likely to be any fun to me with what I have. ???
Regards,
Ben

FS2004 will run well on both computers. I suggest installing it on the E-Machines 190 because it has the 512mb of ram. I'm running FS2004 on half the CPU speed you are and it runs well so you should be fine.
The people who are telling you that you can't run FS2004 on a 2ghz CPU are nuts.
I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday.

Run it on the eMachine. You'll be fine. In fact, depending on how things are configured, you may be able to take the 256 stick and put it in WITH the 512 stick for a total of 768mb RAM. (Unless the eMachines has two 256 sticks in there, which is probably the case.)
I run FS9 on a P4 2.0 with 640mb RAM and the FX5200 128mb card with no problems. Sliders on max and I still get about 10-14 fps. If I back things down a bit, that goes WAY up.
Great edit, Bob.&&&&&&Google it. &&&&

See if you can get the processor from your compac machine and put it on the E-machines.
What is the FSB from your P4 and the L2 cache?

My Dad wouldn't let me, and he wouldn't either, pull a computer apart like that. You'd have to really know what your doing and neither of us have much experience at all. We can just about fit graphics card and ram sticks!
I'm not sure if he'd want to do that anyway, because that means one computer would be good and one would be rubbish. Right now there's not too much of a difference. I'll ask him anyway.
Regards,
Ben

If they take the same kind of ram, why not take one of the sticks out of the e machine and pop it into the compaq? That way you have have the good ram with the good CPU.
That makes a lot more sense than swapping CPU's.

Get CPU-Z (its freeware I don’t remember the link but I can email it for you) and take a screenshot from the CPU, Memory and Main board sections so we can tell if everything is compatible, If they are its actually very simple to install the processor there are even some videos that can illustrate it for you.
