Not sure if this should be here or in "aircraft wanted" ???
I'm wanting to buid a collection of warbirds, I have many already but I want the best!
So far the best I have yet is a B25 Mitchel "Briefing Time" extremly awesome!! A few P38's, 47's...
What are your picks for a Ultimate Warbird Collection? Preferably freeware but payware is ok too!

Spitfires/Seafires, see me
There are some lovely packages here, Hurricanes, P-38s, Tempests etc etc.
I also have some German and Italian metal in my hangar along with the odd Soviet and other obscure bits and bobs 8)
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

An excellent starting point for Spits are the Paul R. models over at the outhouse
There are also a couple here that are fun, and don't forget the Hurris and everyone should have a Mossie and a Lanc in the hangar
8)
Ozzy
Ps. I'm pleased you're 'doing' Paris
There are some great stunty bits to try 8)

You'll find Pauls models under CFS2, but they all work in FS9 and are among the best Spit models in the world

Do most of the planes in the CFS sections work in FS9?

Some CFS2 models work fine in FS2002/4. Others don't so you will have to try them yourself to find out. Look for the latest FSDS2 or Gmax models. You might need to re-alias Panel or Sound CFG files for them to show on the menu. Some will also need an Aircraft.cfg tweak for the animation to work properly.
Paul Rebuffat used to have his own section hosted by Sim-Outhouse. This seems to have changed & his stuff is now posted in the CFS2 Aircraft section. His Bf 109s & some of the Spitfires are earlier FSDS1 models & not fully compatible with FS2004. Unfortunately it doesn't tell you which ones in the file description.

Tempest might disagree with me but all true Spitfires have elliptical wings. Some later versions have their wings clipped a little. You guys over the pond seem to like these for some reason I never understood.

I think most of Paul Rebuffat's Spitfires come with their own panels. Not sure if they have a matching DVC. You can alias the sound to any default aircraft to check them out. Download proper Merlin or Griffon sound packs later if you intend keeping them.
