For a week or so now, I've been on this helicopter kick. I don't know why. I'm finally getting the hang of these things.
Anyway, knowing that there's a certain helo site that is all about control during the hover, I decided to check it out.
They've got this small application called "Liquid Scenery", and let me tell you...I may never fly another fixed wing again.
You run the "Fetcher" application, and it picks up and installs small sceneries in your FS directories. Each one has a mission assigned to it.
I just got a call, for example, of a mid air collision in Washington State. The small single engine aircraft was down and we had to go recover the pilot.
What an amazing add on!

Do you have to be a part of a VA to get this software?

The website being talked about is HoverControl
http://www.hovercontrol.com
You dont have to be part of any VA, but some features like the forums, and online flying are restricted to members (its FREE membership)
Thought I might want to clarify, so I did.

Yep, it's all at HC.com.....I just didn't want to mention the name (though it was pretty obvious) because then it would have been more logical to put it in "other sites".
But no, you don't need to join anything...it's very cool.

Check out some of the tutorials they've got over there as well. That's how I learned. With some practice this week, I'm finally able to land 99 times out of 100, and I've gone from about an 80% rooftop crash rate to about 90% rooftop landing success!

I have to agree with Scott, Hovercontrol is an excellent site. I have joined and taken (passed) the first written exam. I am now moving on to the practice, practice, practice section of my training.
