I still love my old  Yashica that I sort of inherited from my grandmother...she's been giving me all sorts of stuff lately.  lol

But I also use a Canon MiniDV camera for video and still shots....I can't wait to bring the Canon to the airport!

Now find yourself a runway and snap some planes!!
What airports are near you?  Do you live by any big INTL's or some GA airports?  I look forward to seeing them!

Very nice hardware....  Guess you'll have something to snap baby pictures with!

Dave is lucky...he's down near the NYC airports.  I've just got the Albany Intergalactic Spaceport.

Every once in a while I get the thrill of seeing a UPS 757.  Sometimes I'll be there in time for a few 737s, but mainly it's the monster Beechcraft B1900D. Sad

That D-490 is a keeper too, Dave. I had one, before my C-2040z, and at the time, felt it was the best 2 MP point and shoot available.  Good vids and nice extra touches. Heck it even made my "old school" parents sit up and take notice when I connected the cam to the TV and showed some pics and live video images.
All in all, this new Nikon you have is nice for now but wait 6 months, when you will be able to buy a new wristwatch/15MP camera with VGA vid and sound, and mini-micro drive capability and lifetime batteries onboard too......and it will serve tea at 3 P.M. every day too !

I live on the southern flightpath into CYYZ. Lots of aircraft fly over head. Mostly Dash 8s, A320s, and MD80s but I do see the occasional big birds like 777s and 747s. Mostly every major airline follows this path. My R/C flying field is actually right below the flight path. The airport was even concerned about the model airplanes flying to high. That's how low the big boys come.  Grin

I live in the center of Long Island on the North Shore. I am 25 miles from La Guardia, 30 miles from JFK International, 10 miles from Mc Arthur Municipal and 5 miles from Republic Airport!

I used to live under the flight path on the beach on the South Shore to New York's JFK. I would sit on the beach and watch them come in one after another. Heavies from all over the world. At night, you could see their lights all lit up in the sky as the air traffic controllers lined em up. Really wild!!  Shocked
