Well my money has finally caught up to technology. This is my 4th digital camera and I hope it is my last for a while. I finally traded in all my Canon 35MM SLR equipment, it was allot of stuff. 5 lenses and 2 bodies! I have been eyeing Nikon's NEW 6.0 Megapixel D70 since it came out and decided to take the plunge. My freelance work and personal hobby really needed to upgrade to what I once was so "creative" with. Now I have full control again and I can start to re-stock my equipment with different lenses, filters, flashes, etc...again.
I really have not even used it, just around the house.
I can't wait to go to the airports again and get the shots I have longed to share with you. The old Olympus and Fuji digicams just weren't cutting it for me!
Here she is, Nikon's D70!
Isn't she a beauty!
I am off to go shooting!!!!!!

So Dave, what did you use to shoot the images of the new Nikon with ? ???.....just wondering
Actually, I have been eyeing the new Olympus E-1 but its a tad too much money for me to justify for only hobby use, but you never know..... 8)

I was wondering the same thing.
That looks a nice expensive piece of kit Dave. A chap at the Shuttleworth display had one very similar with a big bag full of lenses & other stuff. He was kind enough to demonstrate it to me. The zoom lens he was using was anti-shake or something. I don't know the technical name & couldn't figure out how it worked. It probably cost more than the camera. Must admit I was jealous & tempted to get something like it myself. Then I came back down to Earth & realised that I have no use for such a thing. I have enough problems with my little point & shoot camera.

That would be one of these two trusty fellows. My first Digi on the left is over 5 years old! The 2nd digi on the right is about 2 years old.
I didn't say I got rid of my digital equipment!
Thanks Guys,.....looking forward to posting many shots, both with this bad boy and my new PC! I think I am having a mid life crisis,......
My 2nd child is due this week!!!!!

Looks like the digitals are really starting to rival the 35mm. I still use my Pentax KM 35mm. I think it's a 1980 model. Still takes great pictures. My problem with digitals is the cost of the printing. I had printed a few colour shots out over the holidays and they drained my ink. However, it looks like the cost of finishing is dropping and more photo outlets are offering the service.
I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday.

i am hoping with such a huge rise in digital photography they will drop the costs of processing for film a little, to bring back some people to it, and then people like me who do still shoot film will benifit too:)

Nice Camera, better go get some nice shots with it
Anyways, i have been thinking about going digital and getting the Canon 10D but I think I am just going to stick with film and get a Canon 1-V or a Canon EOS 3. Right now I have a Canon Elan 7, a Canon Rebel G, and a Canon AE-1
Still have a nice PC but I just switched to a hella nice mac
