Would it work if I had the file on my hard drive already mabye?
Edit: BTW my hard disk is not full and the file is only in use by the installer

Eire that is one of the textures for the Jetranger by the look of it. Can you get the rest of the program to install?

I know it's for the jet ranger and even tried extracting it from the CAB on the disk but no luck!
Up until then the installation is fine but it wont go past there and it's only at about 30% i think.
Do MS put a limit to the number of times you can install the disc before you are buggered?

Have you tried cleaning the disc ......... it could be something as stupid as a very very small piece of dirt or a tiny scratch?

cheers

Yes, try cleaning the cd.  If you can't extract the file manually it's probably a dirty cd.

FS 2002 Pro
Re-installations...

I have had similar problems with disk No.3.
Mine kept failing at certain points during the installation.
Failing to load certain XXX.cab files, then the whole installation would stop...!
No amount of cleaning and polishing the disk would cure the problem
The only cure, in my case, was to install the program using my spare W/RW CD ROM...!
So...
Either my main, (old), CD ROM is not reading successfully, or the 3rd. FS 2002 CD is of poor quality...?
(Problems always seem to occur with the 3rd. disk)... Cry...!

Cheers all... Grin...!

Paul.

I got it working! Smiley Cheesy Grin
it wasn't anything like dirt anyway I tried that before. the solution is on the MS website http://www.microsoft.com/games/pc/flightsimulator.aspx#support
it took ages but it is finally installed!
I had to do a disk check on the C drive, some weird thing in msconfig and then delete my 'temp' directory.
I just wish i could find where i put my professional version LOL
all i can say now it thank god I kept my good planes backed up!
