Hi Guys,

I have been out of the Flight Sim loop for nearly a year since my computer died on me!  I did own FS2002 and have now bought FS2004 & am currently building my own pc (yes I bought FS before my computer is sorted lol!!)  I have alot questions which  i'll list below, if anyone can answer all, some or just one of them I would be really grateful!!! Thanks in advance  Smiley

1. I was in the middle of a round the world flight when my computer crashed a year ago, I was using a stand alone Graphics program to take pictures of my trip and i can't remember the name of it... can anyone recommend a small program that wont eat up framerate?

2. Do FS2004 airports still have the yellow fuel squares which you could drive into and your fuel would be automatically refueled?

3. Is there traffic at every airport no matter how small? I remember reading an article that said there would be GA traffic at even the smallest airports as default, is this true?

4. I was using Tipsters Baron panel for my RTW flight... does anyone know if it is compatible with FS2004? (btw I was deeply saddened to hear of John's passing, i only just found out recently.  He was a real gent, RIP John)

5. I have an ATi Radeon card - anybody got any recommendations on which driver to use?  is the latest catalyst driver the best option?

6. Does fs2004 have ai floatplanes programmed by default?

7. Do I need nova, nova gold, asd, gerrish gray tree texture files like i did in 2002? also I had a general airport texture enhancement download in 2002 which increased the overall quality of runways, building textures etc... is there one to d/l for 2004?

ok thats it... I said there were alot!!! thanks again in advance for any replies

Cheers

Ross

1.There are many good screenshoters,I personally use
FSScreen-small and simple.

2.Yes

3.Yes.Not sure about all smallest airports.

4.Donnou

5.Donnou.I use Gforce

6.Yes,Cessna C208 Caravan Amphibian.But it's not only
AI,you can also use it.Although never saw they landing
on water.

7.There are lot of such textures for 2004,including
improved textures for 3d clouds. Not olny improve cloud's look also increase framerate dramaticaly.

hope it helps.

Hey there Ross....welcome back!  I have to admit, there's no way I could have owned FS and no computer, it would have driven me insane.

Ok, your questions:

1.  I use "GrabClipSave" to take screenies.  Google it and you should be able to find it.

2.  Yes, in fact in FS9 they've increased the detail on the fuel squares.  You'll be surprised.

3.  Most airports I've been to have at least a LITTLE AI traffic.  Install Project AI and you'll have even more!

4.  Not sure...I rarely fly GA.

5.  I've got a nVidia card, so I can't help you there either.

6.  I've never seen an AI float plane, but that's not to say they're not there.  I'll keep my eyes open for ya.

7.  There are GOBS of enhancements of the type you're looking for.  Some of my personal favorites include Bill Lyons' awesome water textures, the night lighting textures, the radio tower light fix and of course the typical scenery addons like Boston's Logan Airport...very nice.

Sorry I don't have full file names for you.  If you look back through the files you'll be able to find them with no problems. Cheesy

Great edit, Bob.&&&&&&Google it. &&&&www.google.com

Sterk:  Yes - fsscreen!! thats the one I used before - thanks very much  8)

Hyperion: thanks for the welcome! its good to be back... or it will be when i'm up & running, and yes you're quite right, having a copy of fs and not being able to use it is driving me quite mad! hehe I'm nearly there now though, just waiting for my processor & power supply to be delivered.

Thanks for the info and yeah,  I already have all Projectai official downloads burnt onto a cd in anticipation, I just wanted to know for sure whether the General aviation covered smaller airports too.  I have already started looking at scenery files from here and avsim to build my collection back up... I really can't wait to get back up in the skies again!!!!!

Thanks again both of you for the quick replies.

5. Check link in my sig \/  Get the whole set if possible, or atleast the display driver and control panel.
I am using 4.5 and they are a good improvement over 4.3 (the version i used before) they are one of the most stable and high performance drivers yet.  I recommend using those.

Out of interest which Radeon you using?

My system:Intel Q6600@3.6GHz, Corsair XMS2 4GB DDR2-6400 (4-4-4-12-1T) , Sapphire 7850 OC 2BG 920/5000, X-Fi Fatality, Corsair AX 750, 7 Pro x64
