Something interesting at Avsim. Many people had feared that there would be no FS10 after the cancellation of MSTS 2. Well thoes fears can be put to rest. Microsoft is being very tight lipped on FS10 but according to Avsim, they had this to say.

Quote:
While we don't comment on rumors and speculation, we have not announced any future versions of our titles, and we are absolutely committed to the simulation category.

So basically there are no plans to go ahead with FS10 right now but it looks like there are no plans to scrap it either.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. Let's see....... how better to stop all of the carping from simmers at Microsoft over this and that being wrong (where's my bridge?) than to "threaten" to stop supporting their addiction.  Let that thought just sit and simmer in the community for a little while.

When they finally announce that they WILL produce FS10 (surprise surprise  Wink )....... everyone will feel really grateful that they "gave in".  They move from "bad guy" to "hero".

Oh... and that will also help with upping the price.  Supply and demand and all that.  ("Well, we almost didn;t produce it cause it is expensive to do so and therefore we just HAD to increase the price substantially".)

Sounds like a bit of in-developemnt, pre-release "market positioning" and spin to me.  It is a best selling title.... they won't simply drop it after all this time and the fanatically loyal purchaser base.

If they do.... someone else stands to make a BUNCH of money capturing the market that Microsoft simply abandons.  Unlikely occurance.

FS10 actually got dragged into discussion because of amis-directed statement about CFS 4. MS has not yet announced  the next CFS title and some people asked why there had not yet been any news of FS as well.

Seems some people forgot that FS is currently on a 2 year cycle and we are still in the year of the current title! We're about a year early to hear first rumours of the next version...but some people started ot panic. Smiley

Well said, SilverFox!  That's what I've been telling everyone I hear questioning FS10...
