The FX5200 will support reflective water, but will not let you max the water slider out (unless someone has found a way around this), it may look weird, i have set my water setting down to low and run bill lyons water and the water looks really weird, it is flat and has lights that flash around the place.  With the setting set to high though the water has ripples and waves and the light reflection works a lot better.

Anyone use Bill Lyon's water pack with an FX5200?  I need someone to agree or disagree with me.

My system:Intel Q6600@3.6GHz, Corsair XMS2 4GB DDR2-6400 (4-4-4-12-1T) , Sapphire 7850 OC 2BG 920/5000, X-Fi Fatality, Corsair AX 750, 7 Pro x64

The FX5200 most certainly WILL let you max out your water slider.  It just won't let you have land and water BOTH on max.

Great edit, Bob.&&&&&&Google it. &&&&www.google.com

Hi everyone,

I am currently running a fx5200 card in an AMD 2500+ machine, 512 DDR  dual channel ram.

I run the land and water sliders maxed out with Bill Lyons water textures. What happens is that when I first start the FS, the water textures are there, but it takes about fifteen seconds for the color to show up. After that the screen stays
stable until the next time I boot into the FS.

After a little research I find to get better performance with this video card I need a faster processor, next thing on the wish list.

Clear skies,
Paul
