To fly... Or not to fly?

I normally don't touch a thing, if you, and the rest of the people on the MP are using the default aircraft, then it really doesn't matter because it's like playing the default campaigns.

hi guys,
This would really depend on what pc spec you have.
There is an overhead in multiplayer caused by all the pc's 'talking' to one another.
I can set my graphics slightly higher in single play than I can for multiplay. This is really just to ensure no stutter and a playable frame rate.
I am using onboard graphics and I get between 20 - 30fps in multiplayer games. This will of course depend on number of players and scenery in use.
I have my game on 800x600 rez and graphics set at about 3.
I'd love better but I shall need a new pc first.
The problem with using lowest graphics settings is that you will see the ground at sometimes very different altitudes from other players and you start getting planes flying underground or straight through hills.
It is ok for you as it will be you underground to them!
Lag is caused by many things including your connection speed and power of your pc to process the information it is receiving. So long as you are getting fps above 20 all the time in the game you should be ok.
Hope this helps.
Don't shoot me!!

Hitting SHIFT + Z a couple of times brings up frame rate display.
On the issue of settings in Multiplayer on the Zone or by IP: If your settings are way different then the others, you or they will see the other flying through hills and disappearing into the ground.
Normally, to try to eliinate this, when flying combat I like to set mine around mid range, say at 3. If on the other hand I am in a free flight room, I turn it up and enjoy the scenery. Especially nice when using the Pac Tex files. (Famous mesh scenery for CFS2) A must have IMHO.
