I removed FS9 and reloaded it to see if the error message would go away. It did't. I could not find it on the first disk either. Also , where is the FS9.cfg located?

To locate the FS9.cfg, do the following:

My Computer/C Drive/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator 9/. You are now in the FS9 Folder, or "Root Folder". It is in here and it opens up in notepad.

Not so Dave. fs9.cfg is not in the FS9 main directory as with other versions of FS. Its location depends on your OS. Read the FS2004 FAQs thread you posted as a sticky topic in this forum. Wink

FSSound.dll is a 3rd party module that lives in the FS9\Modules folder. Uninstalling FS9 will not remove it unless you delete the complete FS9 directory folder afterwards. If you wish to remove the DLL you could simply delete it manually.

With FSSound.dll installed you can stop the error message by adding this entry to fs9.cfg.

[OLDMODULES]
fssound.dll=1
