1 per user per visit max. None invasive & no spyware.
If you are getting more I suggest your system may be effected in some way. Possibly the W32.Sasser.B.Worm which has effected many systems & transmitted through windows internet connections - not email.

1 per visit is still to much.
I do not like pop under, pop ups or what ever. Incorporate the ads on the screen (no problem)
I do not like extra screens on any site (that is why i I have the Google popup killer)

simple fact is they help to pay for this site.
I dont even wanna take a guess at petes web bill but i can guarentee he's loosing no sleep over 1 pop-up annoying some people. having been to some sites that are nothing but pop-ups galore with spyware included i can say its a very small price to pay.
Have you tried some of these other pop-up blockers??

There is a new version of Internet Explorer to be released later this summer...no more popups or popunders. This behaviour is being removed from the specification.
That's the good news...the bad news is you can expect to see more sites using interstitials, pages that load between pages you select on a website and then forward you to the selected page.

So how do you propose to contribute for the cost you incure to me every time you download a file?
This is reality & remember the old quote that 'abuse leads to restrictions' 8)
You may not like harmless & small pop unders but like others said they help towards costs. If you're not even prepared to do that .... well ....

Keep the Pop ups coming Pete and hopefully we all soon will see a way for us to contribute a bit more to this great site!

I've not noticed any popups/unders on this site with the popup blocker I use. I reccomend the free
Panicware Pop-up Stopper Series
And even though the once in a while get through,no big deal, as the help pay for this amzing site!

I think you might of miss under stood me. I do not mind ads incorporated
into
the web site at all. As in on the same page.
I just do not like pop ups or pop under ads. Actually I wouldn't even mind if when you clicked on something to download it went to a same window page ad that ran for a few seconds before the download started. Like some sites do. It just frustrates me when another window pops up.
I do realize that it cost a lot to keep a site up and running (time & money). I did it all on my own for three years with my car club site. Simviation is one of the top sites that I have run across, so do what you have to do to keep it up and running...

I'm not sure what the real definitions are for all these terms. I used to get ads at the top of the screen in the forum section and ads down and across on the home page. They would sometimes move or flash on the spot, but I have never had anything jump at me onto the screen which I would have to click off, and anything that I see by way of advertisement I would have to click on to see what it really is.
But that was before my Dad went to town and bought add blockers, a firewall, spam killers, virus killers and detectors. Infact everything going. I'm not sure what prevents what. If you wanna know what we use to not have any adds or pop ups I'll ask my Dad for you.
I use the proper blockers to stop everything. I get totally nothing but the SimV stuff on here. No adds or pop ups whatsoever. 8) I would suggest that most free dowload thingys are not 100% effetive.
There is a saying you get what you pay for. I'll ask my Dad what we have, I don't think it's that expensive. Depends how much these things annoy you though. I just couldn't tolerate going on here with them all on.
regards
Ben
