Bubnme...I'm not sure what the minimum specs are for FS9, but yours would
probably
run it, though not very smoothly.
If your motherboard could take it, and you have a few extra dollars lying around, I'd suggest picking up at least another 256mb of RAM. In fact, if you got another 512, you'd be even more set. But 256 should give you a considerable boost.
Another 256mb stick will run you about $50-60 USD, maybe even cheaper depending on your source. Good luck!

Extra RAM is a good idea but this will depend on your OS. For WinXP the more RAM the merrier. Many people are still using Win98
Hagar
in which case 512 Mb RAM is the optimum* & 1 Gb would be a waste of time & money. It might be better to get a better video card. I would try FS9 on your system before spending out. It might run perfectly well as it is.
*PS. Fozzer recently mentioned that increasing the RAM to 768 Mb improved FS9 on his Win98 system. He also has a 128 Mb video card.

I know only too well that this is easy to forget. I try to cover all possibilities when offering advice. Not that I always succeed.
The fact that I run FS9 & my other M$ sims on a very low-end system + WinMe makes me more aware of this than most.

Hi Charlie... Welcome to SimV... Lets put these specs into perspective:
PIII, 500MHZ, 128mb SDRAM, Nividea TNT2 (
) onboard soundcard, 17 inch CRT monitor, 13GB HDD and a Saitek Cyborg 3D.
Runs Fs2002 Pro alright....
