Helllpppp!

Does anyone know what key combination to use to bring up the simple 4-5 guage display accross the bottom of the window in maximized cockpit view?

Thanks,
Chris

It's W - hit it once for gauges, again for no gauges and again for return to cockpit.

Thanks!

I just replaced a joystick that by default had that view programmed into one of the joystick function buttons. I had never known about that particular view until I got that joystick. When I dumped the stick I could not for the life of me figure how to get  back to that view.

I prefer it for landings.

Again, thanks!
Chris

Any time - send me some more easy ones.

BTW - if you're using this for landing you can move the gauges to the top of the screen.  Let me know if you want to know how.

Look for aircraft/default/panel/panel.cfg  The MS version contains something like this:

(MiniPanel00)
position=7
size_mm=600,100
window_size=0.9,0.20
child_3d=1
background_color=0,0,0
ident=MINIPANEL

gauge00=MiniPanel!Airspeed,                          0, 0, 100, 100
gauge01=MiniPanel!Turn Coordinator,            100, 0, 100, 100
gauge02=MiniPanel!Attitude,                        200, 0, 100, 100
gauge03=MiniPanel!Heading Indicator,      300, 0, 100, 100
gauge04=MiniPanel!Altimeter,                  400, 0, 100, 100
gauge05=MiniPanel!Vertical Speed,       500, 0, 100, 100

You just need to edit the first 2 numbers of each gauge entry so the gauges appear at the top - like this:

(MiniPanel00)
position=1
size_mm=700,110
window_size=0.96,0.19
child_3d=1
background_color=0,0,0
ident=MINIPANEL

gauge00=Cessna!Airspeed,                 20, 0, 80, 80
gauge01=MiniPanel!Attitude,             110, 0, 80, 80
gauge02=MiniPanel!Heading Indicator,    200, 0, 80, 80
gauge03=MiniPanel!Altimeter,            290, 0, 80, 80
gauge04=MiniPanel!Vertical Speed,       380, 0, 80, 80
gauge05=Lear_45!Pitch Trim,             560, 10, 20, 60
gauge06=Cessna!Flaps,                   590, 10, 28, 56
gauge07=Cessna182rg!Gear Light,         625, 10, 12, 12
gauge08=Cessna182rg!Landing_Gear,       625, 25, 12, 32
gauge09=Cessna182rg!Clock,              470, 0, 80, 80

I'll email you a copy of mine.  Just back up your original and use it instead.

I never get the gauges when I hit "w"once , I just get the full screen. I am using XP and running FS2002.
Do I have  a messed up file?
Thanks,

Chief

Some people delete default/panel because they think it will save space (a whopping 6K).  Check to see if it's still there and if you not you can restore it from the cd or I'll send you both of mine (I still have the MS version even though I don't use it).

Thanks Webb,
I didnt deleted it intentionally, if that is in fact the problem.
Where would I look to find the default panel file?

It's in one of the .cab files on CD1 - I don't recall which one.  You'll just have to poke around until you find it.

Exit the setup screen & explore the CD with Windows Explorer in the usual way.
