Unusual shot Craig. You should take more.
Hope you enjoy it in Birmingham. I went past there on Saturday. Next time I might get to visit Cosford. 8)

Thank you Doug, i have a shot of my mom receiving her award from betty boothroid(or whatever it is)
lol if anyone want to see it. Problem is the spotlights were all lowered and because of the distance from the stage the Flash was useless, and we were the closer group, cant imagine what those people at the back there had to do to get a big picture.

Which brings us to lesson #1 in photography 101....your flash is only going to be useful on subjects 4-8 feet from the lens.
I never understood why you see people at the Super Bowl taking pictures with flash from the last row of the upper level.
Normally, not a problem...except that the flash will illuminate ANYTHING in that range, like the back of the head of the person in front of you.
Unless you're standing on top of your subject, skip the flash entirely!
Great edit, Bob.&&&&&&Google it. &&&&

dont get me wrong i am always grateful for any help. lord knows i need it
sadly the organisers screwed up, they must have known photography would be a big thing, but they lower the lights to make it almost impossible especially those at the back

Your shot Craig, although dark, does hold lots of detail which can be brought out to make the image show somewhat less than a dark hole............
