Hi
Using FS 2002 recently I had no problems with the GPS. The last couple of days it has gone walkies! ie all that is displayed is a black square with no data. I am a bit of a newcomer to FS2002 so I am hoping one of you lads can help me out. Thanks Dendoe

Have you added any aircraft or other addons?
If you have try uninstaling them and trying again .... if that doesnt fix it then someone here will be able to help I'm sure.
hope that helps
cheers

It sounds as if you have deleted the gauges\gps.gau file. If you can't find it in explorer you will need to extract it from CD1 (it's in one of the .cab files but I don't have the CD handy to tell you exactly which one).

If you look in the planes panel cfg file as you look down through it you should find a entry for the gps write down the name of the gauge it uses then look for that gauge in the gauge folder. If you do not find it then you deleted it somehow. If this is a default plane then you can find the gauge on disk 1. I hope you have not used a gauge cleaning program if so they usually have a backup folder in them providing you saved them and did not delete them. If you have a gauge cleaning program take my advise and get rid of it. None of them work.

Re GPS Loss-
Thanks to you guys I can now find my way around!! The GPS has now recovered. I carried out all your suggestions and you were all right. Somehow I had picked up two odd GPS guages that seemed to have cut out the original - probably off some obscure panel I have loaded. These two were removed, the original re-installed and all is back to normal. Thanks to Eno, Jim, and Garrymbuska. Dendoe
