I recently landed at an airport (as you do) and taxiied off the runway onto a taxiway.  Ground told me to hold because of a Cessna on the main taxiway.  Like the good little pilot I am I obeyed and waited for the Cessna to pass.  Unfortunately the idiot pilot in the Cessna decided to turn into the same taxi way that I was one.  Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Hi Eskimo,

I had that happen at Algiers, DAAG. Landed my Baron, exited runway, held for 747 taxiing to runway and he turned into my exit to get to runway.

With AFCAD, found it was because there was no designator for the normal runway entryway. Because of this Ground was forced to make the runway part of the taxi route, which happened to include the taxiway I was sitting on. Added the missing designator and solved that problem.

But that was not the only problem. Due to taxi patterns there, I had to pull off the taxiways no less than 3 times to let heavys pass before getting to my gate  Tongue But that is another story Smiley

It was early, so my guess is Controllers had not had time to finish their first cups of coffee yet. Wink

Cheers,
Dave

Maybe the designers planned it that way to show that AI pilots can make misteaks like real ones!! Wink

By the way, has anyone seen an AI plane crash? I haven't but once I saw an AI 737 land waaaaayy short of the runway and taxi the rest of the way in.

Actually I have seen two AI aircraft crash! It was at Miami Intl on a flight back to Seattle and I was cleared to take off and a 737 was the next to go but a big 777 came in ran over it and declared itself to go next  Grin

At another one of those mornings ( Smiley ) , I was taxiing to the hold short position of the runway and there was a cessna ahead of me. When cessna arrived at the hold short line and I was behind of him, I impatiently tuned to tower freq. and requested take off clearence before the cessna. And the ATC cleared me for take off  Shocked, just after that cessna requested clearence and he was told to be second for take off.

I had to pass the cessna through the narrow way with the 737 to reach the runway.

By the way, this happened in FS2002.

Can't remember what airport I was at, but after landing and getting taxi clearence I was going down the taxi way and watching a 747 and a 737 taxing for the runway. At an intersection ground told me to hold short, so I did, low and behold the 747 turned and ran right over me followed by the 737 that did the same thing. Ground then cleared me to procede to GA parking.
