Hi, I had a worm on my computer last week and since then I have been unable to start Flight Simulator. It is the only programme not responding and I successfully quarantined the worm.  I have followed all the suggestions on the Microsoft website but still no joy.  I have also reinstalled my nVidea graphics card.  Has anyone got any other suggestions..............please!

You can't start FS? ???

Does it load the splash screen and then it freezes and won't respond?

If it does, follow these steps:

1. Start the task manager
2. Check your CPU Usage at the bottom of the window
3. Check and see if FS is responding

If your CPU usage is @ 100% then there's someting wrong. If it says the FS isn't responding, that's OK, because after awhile it loads anyway.

If you have 100% usage AND no response, you should delete your fs9.cfg file.

Next time you start the sim, FS9 will make a new one...

You'll have to reset your preferences, but that's better than not having the game run at all... Shocked

I had the same problem.

Hope it works! Grin

I had that same problem. It mabey that you actuly have a virus in your fs2004 game files. Or the virus may have harmed some important game files. Go to the task manager and click on the processes tab ANd end all of the processes exept system processes Because if you end system processes it will cause System instability. Also do not end the explorer process either. That should free up some virtul Memory. If that does not work then the only other soulution that I can come up with is to completely unistall FS9 and reinstall it....
