Welcome, always nice to see new blood....

Do what me (and thousands of other newbies) did - go to the Home Page - look for Grumpy's relevant tutorials, study them closely and if this fails - come back.

There's no way I could help you more than that..

Good luck

Bazza.

Hi Lux & welcome.

Installing repainted textures is quite straightforward once you understand the principle. Basically the new textures will be in a separate "Texture" folder. It should have a suffix added like this - Texture.1, Texture.green, Texture.BA - or whatever. The part of the folder name after the period must be added to a new entry in Aircraft.cfg for it to be recognised in the sim. The name can be anything you wish providing you use the FS folder naming conventions - Texture.xxx - & this is defined in a new Aircraft.cfg texture= entry. The new Texture.xxx folder should be pasted into the main folder of the appropriate aircraft along with the Model, Panel, Sound & the original Texture folders. Most repaints come with installation instructions & sample Aircraft.cfg entries. These can be copied/pasted into the appropriate Aircraft.cfg using Notepad. Make sure you change the header number [fltsim.x] of the new entry to run in sequence.

I posted a walkthrough on adding repainted textures to a default aircraft. This is usually slightly different to those for 3rd party aircraft but the principle is exactly the same. It should give you the general idea. http://www.simviation.com/lair/Repaint2002.htm
