In a Aerospatiale Squirrel....  Found at Hovercontrol.com.

Getting the helicopter ready for my first cross country in a whirly bird.  I normally don't fly them very far, because it takes to long... Grin

...

Taking off to the North from Olympia, WA.

...

Landed at Crossings Aviation for a passenger.  Heading to Forks.

...

Passengers point of view.  Not bad....

...

Getting closer to the Olympic Mountains.  The weather is starting to close in.  Could get interesting.

...

Clouds are getting thicker.  Picking up a bit of turbulance off the mountains.  And it is starting to rain heavily.

...

Climbing up through the rain and around the clouds to get over the Olympics.

...

Finally at Forks.  We arrived safe. Grin

Great pics! The helo and scenery looks really nice, too. How long did it take you to get there?

The Olympia FBO scenery is an addon from Eaglesoft (freeware), the Tacoma Narrows scenery came from avsim (freeware), the Forks scenery came from Lago (payware), and the terrain mesh came from avsim (freeware).  There are a few to choose from as far as NW terrain meshes.

The focus is the freeware helicopter.   Wink  We should have a forum for screenshots that show both free and payware.....  I don't want to miss lead anyone.... Grin

In my books it is whether the aircraft is payware or freeware that should dictate what froum it is in.

If that's the view passengers always have, the most be one wet seat with no pilot in there!!! Grin

Tip:  Pick up the enhancement pack over at HC for new rotor textures/sounds! Cheesy

Makes a great heli even better...

Stunning shots!

I always wanted to ask this: can anyone lecture me on how to fly and land a helo? I can fly a 747 upside down at 20' AGL ok, but can't keep a chopper in the air for more that 20 seconds without crashing. Grin

I know there are articles out there on how to fly the FS helicopters.  I started out by keeping the realism all the way up except for the general.  I turned that down, until I got used to how the throttle acts as the colective and the stick moves you forward, backward, and side to side and the rudders rotate the helicopter.
