the wellesley mk1 very interesting bird used in the middle east in the early 30s i think..
never considered for home base use but later used by the raf for long range development..it ended up breaking the world distance record in the late 30s flying over 7000mls in 48hrs.
a record that stood for 8 years..
great model and fantastic to fly this one with a nice vc too Grin

Again, fantastic. One small point though. The Wellesley was a Vickers-Armstrong design. Not just Armstrong. Wink

Notice how it sounds better with Vickers at the front. Grin

More commonly known as the Vickers Wellesley, without the Armstrong. It was designed by Barnes Wallis & was the first aircraft to go into production using his geodetic construction methods, later used on the Wellington. I believe it broke altitude records as well as long-distance. I can remember seeing a photo of a Wellesley circling the summit of Mount Everest.
