Im just interested in peoples thoughts on the new name for doncaster finingley airport which will commence commercial operations in summer 2005. The airport site (formerly RAF Finningley) is owned by Peel Airports who also own Liverpool John Lennon Airport. from what I have heard the decision to name the airport 'Robin Hood Airport' was made by Peel and not by the public.

Thomsonfly and Britannia Airways (TUI UK) have announced they will be flying from the airport, 1 Britannia 757 will be based there and 4 Thomsonfly 737's.

I would also be interested in knowing how and if this is going to affect other airports like (EMA) East Midlands and (LBA) Leeds Bradford. I hope Britannia dont reduce their services from LBA!!

Also does anyone no of any new airlines starting from LBA, ive heard rumours about VLM starting to london city and heard rumours on the net awhile ago abut a jet2 747 !?!
