Ok despite people usually not paying much interest to my posts (except the Sock  Grin I can trust you to like decent music lol) I am going to persist and pay homage to yet another great album.

PUMP! - Aerosmith

This album really has to be their best work in my books (although some of their 70's stuff is very very good.) They really had mastered their style by this time and had just come back from a big break meaning the return of the ever great Joe Peryy Cheesy Everything from the order of the songs to the little touches (like the mini drum solo at the end of Young Lust) just screams quality and most important of all it f'in ROCKS 8) It even shows signs of the band maturing a little bit (and I mean little Grin ) with songs that touch on more sensetive areas like child abuse. Steve Tyler really is on top form on this one and he shows that even after his coke problem he can still produce that blood curdling scream that he used to 8)

In short this album really symbolises the return of one of the greatest rock bands in history after their previous breakup. Joe and Steve settled their differences and have really come back together on this one (I could listen to the slide guitar on "Monkey On My Back" all day Grin ) There is one lyric in this album that symbolises this.

"Even Joe Perry says I'm AALLLRRRIIGGHTTT"

Rock rant over 8)

Pete

Yeah but after Draw The Line it all starts getting a bit .... I dunno ...... rubbish

This album just is a great return to form although the only other album I think is great after this one is Get A Grip (that excludes Honkin On Bobo)

I have liked Aerosmith since thier beggining, but lost interest in them after they started doing movie soundtracks.
Many a great bands have gone south that way!
The best stuff is Toys in the attic, Live Bootleg (best by far).
But when a band focuses on making music for the radio it is then they are "washed up"! I never liked anything the radio will play and that is what thier most recent stuff is, "made for radio". Go commercial and you lose fans!
Look at that crap Metallica turned into! Grin
I have to admit this past year when I saw them with KISS they were good, really good! Played only one or two movie songs, mostly older tracks, and some real good and loud blues based hard rock the way Aerosmith should sound!

Without a doubt Aerosmiths best album EVER!!!
Alas once a band starts thinking more about the money than the fans things tend to go horribly wrong Cry
Ah well I've still got most of their early albums here to listen to Cheesy

Well Honkin On Bobo is a good sign and I hope that they are signalling that they are going to continue down the old blues rock road. I hope they do because they really are very good when they try.

Toys In The Attic was a damn good album but my favourite 70's album is Rocks beacause well... it rocks lol

I think they have earnt all the money and will soon join the ranks of those great bands that do it just because they love the old rock and roll with bands like AC/DC and Rush.

And I thought Garage Inc. would straighten them out and get them back on trash metal.   Sad  But no... Cry

But hey, like Ozzy said, I still have all their early albums to enjoy.  Smiley

Oh why oh why did I ever buy St. Anger Undecided lol I don't think that I have ever brought myself to listen to more than three songs on that album.

Still I have the S&M DVD and if you like their old stuff that is all you need 8)

S&M is awsome!  I have the cd, and when I had kazaa I downloaded some of the videos.  The Call of the Ktulu is already a great song, but couple that with a full orchestra and its absolutly orgasmic!  IMHO... Grin  That and The Thing That Should Not Be sounds dang good as well. Cheesy

Well I just picked up Honkin' on Bobo, and:

This album KICKS ASS!!!! This is the way Aerosmith should sound! I can't belive it!!! I'm having a hard time deciding which song is the best. But Road Runner is what rock and roll really is!!!!
And even though many bands have done Baby Please don't go, this has got to be the best rendition I have yet to hear!
Great to see them back to rockin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
