Good Day All;

Firstly, I look forward to my new association with simviation. I have just registered. Unfortunately I have a problem.

I have just installed FS 2004 and there seems to be a problem with the graphics. From a microsoft support page, apparently my video card needs an updated driver. I am running an ATI Rage 128 Pro. (32mb) When I go to the ATI support page they have a driver for DirectX 8.0 only. Any suggestions?    ???

What is your OS? I'll see if I can help find something for you.

What do computers and air conditioners have in common?...
They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

Apache43,

Hi and Welcome to SimV.

I am not at ALL sure..... but I seem to remember seeing somewhere some articles on the ATI Rage video cards and problems with FS2004.  I am not sure.... but it might be that the Rage cards don't supprot Dx9.x or something like that.  Or it might be something else.

Check the Microsoft Knowledge Base on the their FS website.  I THINK that is where I saw stuff on it.

Don;t take this message too much to heart until you research it a bit....... I could be having a "senior moment".   Wink

best,

...............john

I used to have an old ATI Rage Fury Pro video card, but ATI stopped supporting it as soon as Win XP was released Undecided

I have that same card on my downstairs PC. Hate to tell ya, but you are gonna have to get a new card. I bought a Radeon 7000 2 years ago for $80 (worth about $30 now) and it isnt enough.

I'm glad you got it to work (even if you had to buy a new card  Sad).  Anyway, I hope you enjoy FS2004.

Also welcome to the circus (aka Simviation forums).   Wink
