Hi there,
I have just finished my latest video. It is the new F/A-18E Super Hornet being put through its paces!!! It is about 6 minutes long and about 30mb with a great soundtrack. It should take a few minutes to download. Let me know what you think! Here is the link.
Thanks
Eric

It's pretty good. Kinda laggy though. Is that supposed to be like that? I like the sonic booms, does it come with the plane or seperate?

Well done, I really enjoyed it.  I didn't find it too laggy-it was a little at first, but then it smoothed out pretty good.  Nice Job!   Grin Wink

Thanks for the replies,
It is a little jerky at the start because of a couple things. I decided to trade off FPS so that I could show the AI F-18's on the ground. First, this Hornet is hard on framerates, second, 20 AI fighters doesn't help, third, Fraps2(the program I use to record videos) drops framerates even further. Once the Hornet is off the ground, it smooths out (at least it should) and continues smoothly to the end. I just thought the little bit of jerkyness with the AI's was worth it!!
Thanks again
Eric

* UPDATED *

How critical of a response do you want?  Keep in mind, I've only made one video myself, and I'm in no position to critisize anyones work, but on a scale from 1-10, I found it a 5.  My idea for the purpose of the video was kinda like a promotional video.

I'm not saying it's bad! But things I look for in a video like that are...

Good external views of the aircraft... MET
Good internal views of the aircraft... MET, but just barely. I'd suggest more viewing of the internal layout of the cockpit.
       Fitting music... MET
Video synched with Audio... Not Met, I find it catchy to have shots/views changing to the beat of the music, or the aircraft perform/move in beat.

I too found the video choppy, but I don't think it was so bad that ruined the video.

I thought the music was a little boring, appropriate, but boring. Next time, try something a little more exciting/knee thumping/toe tapping.

I have a good example. This is not my video, and I can't remember where I found it. There is only one credit at the end. http://www.anadrac.com/Flight/Video_files/Levolution_Video.wmv

I'll also upload my first video so you can determine for yourself the validity of my comments. http://www.anadrac.com/Flight/Video_files/Anadrac_Test1.wmv

Thanks Joe,
I appreciate the review. I have only made 3 videos myself and this one is by far the lowest quality. I did it in about 1 hour and only because someone asked me to do a video about the new Hornet. I didn't put to much work into it. If you would like to see a video that I did put alot of work into please check this one out -

I hope you enjoy and if you have any tips again, they would be appreciated. I'm not Steven Spielberg, just doing this for fun and still have lots to learn!!!

Thanks
Eric

Very nice job EricK!  keep up the good work!!

Skittles- just as kinda an FYI about synchinbg video with audio- IT's tough to do!  I have not done any FS videos, but I have quite a bit of experience in video production and its basic principles.  Not to criticize you- I respect people who give good constructive criticism- but it's tough to do correctly because the shots have to phase together just right and the music must fit perfectly.  Not impossible by any menas, just significant work!

The example vid you linked- thanks for the link to is great, by the way.

Joe,
That "Levolution" video is spectacular. Whoever made that though, has proper editing software and a very fast computer. I use the Windows Movie Maker that came with XP and my computer is a 1.7g piece of crap with an old graphix card and 384mg of ram. I hope to be able to do something like that someday but I'll need some new "toys" first!!!!
Thanks
Eric

Yeah, I know! I spent 12 hours trying to build a video synched to the music but the software I was using kept dumping on me, or it wouldn't save the file correctly or some other darn thing... All that work and I nothing to show for it! Angry
