Well, every few years we have a little air show in my home town on Eugene, Oregon.  I was going through some photos I have, and came accross some I took during one the show from a few years back (we were blessed enough to have Canada's Snow Birds come).  So, here are a couple of the pictures I took.

I'm sorry about the poor quality, I had to scan them and resize them to meet (or come close too in one case) the forum rules.

Here are a couple pics of the Snow Birds in the air

...

...

During the show, I had wandered off and was taking pictures with my parents camara.  A local newspaper reported noticed me and offered to let me use his really expensive lens to take a few quick pictures (since we had the same camara).  So, here are 2 of the photos that I took using his lense-they came out great.

This is a small stunt plane of some kind (might be an Extra, I'm not sure)-but it's one of my favorite photos from that day:

...

Finally, here is a picture of the Canadian F/A-18 that came.  It has a special paint job since it was a CAF anniversary of some kind (I can't remember exactly what anniversary).

...

Anyway, those are a couple of the many photos that I took that year.   Wink Grin

It's always a treat to watch the Snowbirds perform.

It actually wasn't an anniversary.
The CF-18 was the "Millenium Hornet," used for the celebration of the year 2000.

They were amazing.  We usually don't get big named teams like that to come here.  Several years back we got the Blue Angel's and that was a treat.  But, personally I liked the Snow Bird's better.  I hesisitate to say if either was more talented but I prefered the Snow Bird's style.  There were more of them and theyt flew slower planes.  As a result, they were easier to see.  At least in  my opinion.

Also, does anyone know what that little prop stunt plane is?  I thought it might be an Extra but I'm not an expert in those kind of planes so I really have no idea.  If anyone knows, let me know.   Wink

Nice one Richie. Most modern aerobatic types look very similar. I'm no expert but think it's most likely an Extra.* In fact it looks very much like Patty Wagstaff's 260 which is now in the NAS Museum, Washington DC.
...

Just to show how similar they are, this shot of British aerobatic champion Diana Britten in her CAP 232 was taken at the RAFA display at Shoreham in 2001. http://www.airliners.net/open.file/190620/M/

*PS. From the bracing wires on the tail it's more like the original Extra 230. http://aerobatics.no/design/assets/images/nom2002/extra1.jpg

So,.........does someone want some fresh shots of the Snowbirds?..... Shocked

..........they have arrived in town for their usual two week work-ups for this seasons show, and if the weather holds, I might just be able to get a shot or two of them.....they did their first two practice sessions on Sunday and will be in the air twice a day for the next two weeks over our skies here.......... 8)

........with a quick run out to the deck, this is how I saw them do their first flypast of my roofline.....hopefully, I'l have some better quality shots to post soon......
