Hey All!  I've been a FS junky for many years but am always "a day late and a dollar short" when it comes to getting the new FS.   I am running FS2002 now and love it. However, i actually have the cash and have thought about getting 2004.  Is it really that much better?  I've heard that the cloud effects are better and that the ATC is much improved, but would I be disappointed if I were to buy it, or would it be better to get the sky add-ons for 2002.  Please direct me my paths.

Ozzy, please give me your opinion as well if you have a chance.  You recommendations  haven't lead me astray in times past.

there's no offence to anyone else that wishes to reply.  I welcome all comments, I just would like the thoughts of a guy who's probably explored FS2004 to witts end.

Sorry its been so long since I've graced these boards   Grin but the Marine Corps keeps me quite busy.

Specs:
MB:  Shuttle KT333CF
Proc:  AMD XP 2000
Mem:  512MB Samsung PC2700  DDR333
HDD:  WD 40GB/7200
Video Card:  GF4 MMX SE 64MB DDR

Thanks.
Joe

It is better and it is worth it. There are even more improvements than you mentioned but no sense even thinking about it unless you have enough computer to run it properly.

List your computer specs ie: processor speed, amount of system memory, video card specs.

The thing is, FS2004 is a resource and memory hog and is really quite flakey as to performance. You never really know how it will run on a given system until you try it.  But knowing your system specs will help people here to give you a very educated guess as to how things will go.

COF excellent, strong recommendation, a significant improvement over  2002.  No problem running on a mid range system,

You don't have to ask.  It is well worth it.  Back when I was running FS2002, I thought I wouldn't need to upgrade, but I am so glad I did! Grin  FS9 plus all of the addons and tweeks, I am in FS heaven.  Head over to the screenshot forum, you can tell a huge difference between FS2002 and FS9.  I would think that to be convincing in itself. Grin

Ultimately it will be your decision, these are some opinions of a very satisfied customer. Grin
