I'm a newbie too; i can get evrything set up on ILS except capturing glideslope; i track in on localizer with NAV set to localizer course, but when glide slope needle becomes active i punch APP but the plane never catches it-what am i doing wrong??

make sure you switch the GPS/NAV switch to NAV.

.....so I loaded up the plane and moved to Middle-EEEE..........OIL..that is......

Hi!
The best way to catch an ILS is to intercept at 30°,at maximum at 15 miles from the airport....!
Try to intercept it using your autopilot in heading or nav mode,but change in APP (or ILS) before to be estabilish on it!
Or better,you should continue to fly on the necessary haeding to intercept it,changing on APP mode before you're on the final course!
If all is going well,you will see both the Heading and the approach switches illuminated,if the APP is "armed" and the aotupilot is working to intercept the ILS,and just tha APP switch illuminated when the autopilot has lock the ILS!
About the GLIDE.......untill now i haven't found any aircraft able to mantain it well.......!!
