Hi Guys, it's me again with yet another question for you. How come with some aircraft, no matter that graphics program you use you just can't the texture files to open? I mean, they're just .BMPs and I can't even get them open in Photoshop 7. How can you get these files open to edit them a bit?
Now, you all know I'm a newbie. I wouldn't reskin someone's plane and pass it off as my own. However, since I only fly a few different planes, I DO like to slap on my own nose art or something just to personalize it.
Until next time, Take Care.

Hi Sue,
Texture files are in a special format that can't be edited unless they're converted to a normal format using a program called DXTBmp, allowing other software like Photoshop to edit them.
You can download DXTBmp at

Hi Sue,
Check out the Aircraft Repainting Forum.
Also from the from the Simviation download page, click on help (left border) to get to a couple tutorials on repainting.
Cheers,
Dave

Thanks guys!!! I got the program, and a couple tutorials. Gave them a quick look over, and I'm gonna have some fun! If you thought it was odd to have woman pilot in a B-52, wait until I do some touch-ups to an AN-225!
Thanks again!
Take Care.
