Hi Guys,
This is the last post for the day, I promise.
I have no idea how hard this would be, so if it's too much work, just let me know. I need ALOT of landing practice. IF I can get lined up right, I'm still terrible at maintaining a glide slope. I either hit the ground a few plane lengths before the runway, or I float over 1/2 to 3/4 of it before I touch the concrete, then run off the end.
Could someone build me an ILS equipped airport to practice on? I'd like an island with wide, LONG runway. Distance markers, and a marker showing where I should touch down would really help. I don't need any buildings, or terminals or taxiways. Just something long, wide and flat with an ILS.
I've tried some Groom Lake/Area 51 downloads. I'd figured from reading Flight of the Old Dog that I'd have all the room I needed, but someone stuck the place in a valley and then made the lakebed pretty bumpy. So, it didn't quite work out right.
If I can't get my own airport, then who has the longest runway in FS2K2? My current skill level has me needing about 15-18,000 feet.
Thanks everyone. Take Care.
Sue

18,000 feet? I would highly recommend starting out using a small trainer, like the cessna. Practice your landings using just about any airport, and once you get more comftorable, move on to a twin engine, and then work your way up to bigger aircrafts

Hi everyone,
Thanks guys! From the replies to this, I'm thinking that if any of you want to spend time with a really CUTE pilot, look for me at either the base cafeteria or the hospital at Edwards.
BTW, has anyone made a really good AI Crash/Fire/Rescue add-on?

Ya, but with today security concerns, Edwards might be more inclined to give clearance to a fully loaded B52
Cheers,
Dave

Hey! I've had a great idea! Why not fit SCRAMJETs to a B-52, just like the NASA test plane that one of the big birds dropped, just the other day?
Piloting a B-52 that can do zero to 5,000 mph in a few seconds would be a challenge, huh, Sue!
Not to mention trying to get it down again.

you could also try a program called AFCAD sue to create or alter the runways already there... with this program you can add ILS and all the other rubbish that i dont tend to use
can make it long or as wide as you like with as many lights as you care to put on it.
i once altered meigs and i put 150 strobe lights on the approach and flew it at night.. .very impressive to watch
you also would require a joystick and you wont believe how easier it is.. keyboard flying is hard
