Pretty moronic to even start a thread like that.
I know some of the PMDG beta team, and how much time and EFFORT they've put into that aircraft.
It's a damn shame to see how guys like you behave.

But I guess you'd be pretty happy if some people started to distribute your own copyrighted software, which you've spent over 1 year to develop?

Sorry,

But humor me, i'm a kid Tongue Roll Eyes

Anyway, i wanted that bird for my B-day, but RAM was like 90$, so my dad didn't get it. I wanted to get my hands on it any way i could, so i asked a friend.

I understand that SimV doesn't support piracy, but i've got to clue you in on that fact that almost everything you buy in turkey ( as in software, etc. ) is pirated.

What does being in Turkey have to do with piracy?  What does being a kid have to do with Piracy?  So if I am a kid in Turkey, I can feel free to rip off anything I want!  Where was that information when I was 13...? Grin

Then I will assume that you are running a pirated copy of FS9, on a pirated copy of Windows, on a stolen computer system, as long as you are living in Turkey.  If you leave Turkey, then you will be breaking the international laws of copyrights.

It may maybe a cultural differnce, but if you want something in life, you have got to work for it.  I am sorry your role models did not teach you that.  I would think we would all agree that

Hello,

Mike, the person who sent you the CD was denso right ? I am not sure if he is denso on the SimV forums but I am thinking that this is him. Plagiarizing and illegal copying can lead to serious consequences. If PMDG was a corporation, going to court is a possibility. Thanks.

James.

James,

First of all, who's Denso?

Secondly, if those dudes wanted to take me to court they couldn't. This is the internet dude! Plus laws where i live don't restrict or support piracy Tongue Tongue Tongue

So, in that case that is a total UN-possibility Tongue

I really beg to differ............. Roll Eyes What I'm trying to say is, why don't you let your parents buy payware for you? That's the way I do it. I show my parents what I want and they get it for me. No muss, no fuss.

Secondly, WHY would you even post such a thread? This never would've happened if you hadn't informed us of this. No one would've known. No truoble.

Now........ Roll Eyes Good luck. You'll need it.

Cmon guys calm down a little.

Are you saying you have never done anything illegal in your life. Have you never even had a CD copied for you? It is the exact same thing.

Yes people put such work into projects but I have sold projects before and I know people that got them for "free" by some other source. It doesn't bother me that much.

Actually no, I never "even" have had a CD copied for me.  To do so would be to knowingly steal something.

A little while back in this thread I was thinking of posting something that said "hey lighten up..... I understand from one of the other Mods that Mike's just a kid and he's hopefully learned something from this."  I held off to see where it was all going.....and then got busy.

But unfortunately from his recent response above ......... ("Secondly, if those dudes wanted to take me to court they couldn't. This is the internet dude! Plus laws where i live don't restrict or support piracy
")
...... it is pretty clear that not only has he not learned anything from this, but he is actually pretty unrepentant about his "little" faus pas.

It appears that this little crime is being rationalized here by him effectively saying:

-I am in a location that is rife with criminal activity
-everyone here does this stuff
-it is OK to commit crime because it is the internet
-I wanted it but no one would buy it for me so I just took it
-your laws can't reach me here cause I am in a "safe haven" for this kind of crime
-I won't commit a further crime by distributing it not because it is wrong.....but because it is a pain in the butt to do that

All in all....... not a very nice picture.

Mike, I'd like to suggest here that you take that $23 you have....... find yourself a job to raise the rest you need.... and then take the money and go and BUY the item you have already stolen from PMDG.  Then you'll have a legal copy of the software, and will in a weird way make some restitution to them for the theft of intelectual property.  It might make your conscience feel better too.

I hope.

best,

....................john

Hey guys, why not lay off this a little.  Remember this "He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone." (John 8:7) You've obviously got your point accross to the extent that Mike is leaving.  If thats not what you wanted-then just stop this.

If that was your intention, then by all means continue.

Yeah, why would you even think about proclaiming your guilt?  It's like walking out of a jewelry store with a stolen diamond ring, getting up on a trash bin, and showing off your recent theft to the public.  Then when the police come your defence is "Oh, I'm a kid" or "Oh I can do this where I come from".  It's not extraterritoriality here.

Just silly of you...Undecided

P.S. Who is gonna warn the Avsim guys...they are probably gonna be even more pissed than us if they find out. Shocked

I also don't think he thought what he did was illegal at first.  I think he just thought since someone paid for it, it was OK.  So, he wanted to tell everyone about it.  I doubt if he knew that it was a serious issue he would have came right out and said it (he might not have even done it).  I think it's a matter of doing something without knowning the consiquences.

Can anyone say they've never done something and later found out it was wrong?  I can't.

Plus, this is how we learn about things.  We make a mistake and learn from it.  I just think you guys are being too hard on him.

People come down a little. I think you all are over reacting. I'm surprised that some of you never committed a computer crime. I mean its unavoildble. I'm not saying delibrate priating is right, but that kid is from Trukey, where people make $1.25 an hour, sry Mike didn't mean to put down your country, how do you expect some one like that to be able to afford a cope of FS 2004, which costs $60 from where I come from.

Oh yeah, Mike, if you pirate anything else just keep it to yourself.

Pete, relax abit  Wink

I know people copy software to left and right - but what Mike has done (posted on the forum) can hurt this whole site.
I don't care what you and others have on their hardware - however I do CARE when people are posting it on public forum, which can get Pete and the site in trouble.

I'm not saying you or any other here a bad person - we have different point of views and I respect you for that, but I don't agree with it  Smiley

Like I said earlier, I'm doing what I think it's right. If you don't have the money, you should not be able to have it. That's how society works, end of discussion. but what concerns me more: Talking warez on a forum were PETE is the RESPONSIBLE OWNER is flat out dumb.

So Brittania, before you spit out your words of wisdom next time, please take a moment and think of the consequences for Pete and SimV.

Geeeezzzzeeee Mike.  I wasn't going to get into this once again.  I THOUGHT it had "died" and I though you might have learned something out of the "go around" on this subject about casual theft of intelectual property.  Obviously not.

For crimes, being a kid does get you out of stuff like a jail cell, but not out of a juvenile detention center.  But being a kid does not excuse you from issues of "right" and "wrong".   Getting away with it does not mean you are right.  That others do it too does not make it right either.

Such behavior and particularly the clear lack of contrition says a lot about your sense of morals.

Guess I stand by my March 31st post in this thread.    Except for the conscience comment.  I am beginning to  think that you don't have one.

Do your parents condone this behavior?

I just can't stand aside in an intense debate like this.  I love debating.

I agree that piracy is absolutely wrong.  I also think that speeding is wrong.  If you are driving down the freeway and some reckless idiot speeds past you, you might utter some naughty words and flash the birdie at him, but most of us wouldn't roll down the window and lecture him about why he shouldn't speed.  We would just hope that the state trooper in the area set up a speed trap down the road.  Perhaps that is the best thing to do in this situation.   Just hope (or don't hope) the appropriate authorities discover this.  Just as you can't stop everyone from speeding, you can't stop everyone from pirating (is the verb form?).  One my check out www.download.com and look under the "Most Popular" column.  You will see that Kazaa is #1 on the list, with well over a million downloads.  Can't stop a million people from getting free music, among other things.  I used to use Kazaa, until I decided that those musicians put alot of effort into their songs and that should be respected.  As long as we're on the music part, here's a quote from the Beatles:  When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom Let it be.

Thank you,
Jay

*proud supporter of the FS payware industry*

Hmmm I think I have seven payware aircraft now, if not more. Someone once told me when you get your first payware it becomes an addiction. Kind of like getting my first tattoo.

I also proudly support the payware industry, and contribute my money when I find something that fits my needs. They work hard, and create works of art (most payware companies anyway) that I am thankful for.

This thread is like an Energizer Bunny!  It just keeps on going and going and going and going...... Grin

Payware is like a Tattoo or Crack... but not as dangerous.  This flight sim stuff becomes very addicting.... Grin

Turkey is the land of the fake Rolex, fake CK jeans, and fake Lacoste shirts. Anyone from Holland that goes there knows that

If you want your holyday messed up, go there, buy these clothes and act like a clown when passing through customs... you end up paying more for that Turkey visit than for the same time and luxury in Spain, and lose all the cheap stuff you bought there...

Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and An-24RV&&&&AI flightplans and repaints can be found here
