Hello All
           Something which is really annoying me is that I just cant install new textures on Aircraft that you need to cut and paste a new part of the download to the CFG File of the Aircraft its for. If anybody has any tips or advice on how to do this it would be great.
Thanks

Hi J41. See if my walkthrough helps. http://www.simviation.com/lair/Repaint2002.htm

Copy/paste the sample entry from the Readme instructions with the repaint rather than duplicating an existing entry as shown. Make sure the new [fltsim.x] header is numbered correctly.

Hello again
                Thanks Hagar for the reply but Im still having problems but I think Im almost there. I have installed the new textures into the correct Aircraft folder and pasted the new cfg stuff changing the fs number to "1" as the first one was "fs0" (Is this correct) and now when I go to select Aircraft it is there but when I select it, it pops up with "Aircraft Initialization Failure" Any ideas what Ive done wrong. Hope that makes sense but its just one of these really annoying things that you cant stop until it works.
Thanks Guys J41

Hi J41. Here is a typical Aircraft.cfg entry.

[fltsim.1]
title=Boeing 737-400 Paint1
<--- This is the name of your repaint. It must be different to all other variations

sim=Boeing737-400
<----- Don't change this entry. It must have the same file prefix as the AIR file in use

model=
panel=
sound=
texture=1
<---- This entry must have the same name/number as the suffix of the new Texture folder.

Make sure the new texture folder is installed with the correct folder name. In this example it would be Texture.1

PS. If you still can't figure it out tell me where to download the original aircraft & the repaint.

Please tell me if you figure it out guys. If not I'll be happy to do an example for you. Just tell me exactly which repaint you're trying to install to which aircraft & where I can download the files.

Also don't forget to have a complete texture set as your alternate texture, some downloads just come with a partial texture set.

The Texture folder you add to the aircraft's folder must be named like this:

texture.orange

for the above extra texture to work.

Context is sensitive.

Are you sure? CFG entries are not usually case-sensitive.

Ah OK. I think there is more to J41's problem than meets the eye. I'm waiting for him to mail me the files.
