Fleet reconnaissance. English Channel, June 1944.
Reports of enemy shipping near the invasion fleet need to be checked out. A job for the Fleet Air Arm’s Sea Hurricane.
Flying over the invasion fleet, heading towards the Dutch coast.
Enemy ships sighted of the coast of Holland. With their position plotted, it’s up to the Costal Command Mosquitoes to deal with that lot now.
The enemy puts up a wall of flack…
And fighters are not far behind.
A brief encounter.
Damaged, the enemy disengages and dives away. With little ammo and low fuel, the engagement ends.
Back over the fleet.
On finals.
A tad out of shape, but every deck landing is a result!
Before the Navy got their hands on the Seafire, they turned their attention to another land-based fighter to fulfil their need for a high performance ship borne fighter, the Hawker Hurricane. The Hurricane’s wide track made it more suitable for carrier operations than its Battle of Britain partner, the Spitfire.

Great shots Roger, where did you get the Sea Hurri and carriers?
Mark
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Sea Hurricane is a repaint of the AvHistory MkI and I found it at Sim Outhouse. Carrier comes with the 46th's latedst scenery add on and is landable.

Sorry pal, that's the default enemy fighter for that mission. Not my fault, honest.

Looks like a 109G to me. Note the rounded wingtips in pic5.
