Hi Every one...

Yesterday i was flying "in the Sim ofcourse" my jet...at Flight level 380...and according to my descent calculations i figured out that i should start my descent at 110N.M from touch-down.
I was waiting for the controller to initiate the order...he gave my a late descent clearence  in which i was high and short and started my descent at a high rate with half spoilers extended to catch the descent path.

the question is : is it possible to ask for a descent once  you think you are ready for a descent "and your Descent and Approach checklist is complete...Lol".Or you have to wait for the ATC  ?

thanks in advance for the replayes and answers.

Regards.

i know that during the enroute portion of the flight you can pull up your ATC window and one option is to request an increase or decrease in altitude. hope this helps!

Absoloutly you can request altitude changes any time by going to the ATC window and pick your choice from 1,000 to 10,000 feet up or down.

Hi Every one...

yeah i have the seen the decrease in altitude function,But in real life when you are ready for descent you will till the ATC and they will give the initial descent level/altitude.what i want to say is that you are not going to ask the ATC to give you lower level ...like""CALLSIGN 615 maintaing Level 380 ready for descent to Level 280""...are you ?

i think they are who decide to which alt/level we should descent to.

thanks in advance for everyone.

Regards.
