Hi to All Sad

I'm not sure if this is the proper forum or place for this question, but none the less...I own both CFS2 and CFS3 and paid good money for both...now I want to make a copy of at least Disc2 of CFS2 to save wear and tear on OEM copy, but to make a long story short seemed to burn ok! but when using, it the game starts to load for 2 or 3 seconds, stops and displays an error message Angry  something like....The wrong cd-rom was inserted or the your cd-rom might not be compateable with this cd.......What Happened Tongue

I know there is a "no cd" prog. out there but I want and should be able to make 1 copy of my own disc. so how do I do this....

Please someone help me Kiss

Thanksto all who help..

Not me. I never had any success with burning CDs. Roll Eyes

You might try some imaging software. Do a search for IsoBuster.

PS. I can't imagine why you need a backup copy if you use the No-CD patch. My CFS2 CDs are in the same pristine condition as when I first took them out of their packaging over 3 years ago.

There is some kind of anti-copying thing on the discs to prevent piracy (sensible policy).
Are you merely backing up as you are meant to have disc 2 in the CD-ROM drive all the time, and you're worried it'll get knackered? If so I can email you the No-CD crack. PM me if this is the case.

I think it's easier to use the patch Smiley

My disks are still in the box, the only time I see them is when I need to do a re-install Tongue

Personally speaking, I think some of the connection problems I had were due to the no-cd patch. Since un-installing and running from CD,  I've had  very little trouble at all.

Other than getting shot down, that is... Wink

I see no reason to Burn your CD.  They have a No CD patch in this Website that works well. I hope you are not going to use it for Inlegal activities. Just remember if you are going to do a Pirate CDs than you are destroying the same Hobby we all love. developers need to provide for their familys like the rest of us. beside you are probably wont make that much money from it. Think about it.   James007

An interesting thread....

I've found "Clone CD" seems to copy most things including CFS2, although the CD patch is far easier.....  Wink

I've got backups of all my valuable cd's, use the backups, keep the OEM's in the box, nice 'n ' safe.  Wink

Paul.

Strangely enough I found this on the M$ Knowledge Base while looking for other information.

Hi Brandon. From what I hear you would have to pay for it. I think it would be cheaper to purchase a new copy if you can find it. I've seen FS98 bundled with CFS1 at a very reasonable price.

I used "Clone CD" to burn copys of my disk. I ran "CD protection Scout" first to find out what protection was being used. It was Safedisk v2. then opened "Clone CD" and used the settings from CD Protection Scout to burn the cd. Works great.
