Mathia, can we have another clue to when this pack of Bf110 night fighter and Lancaster will be released? Just a little clue? Last I heard was late summer. But it's missed that dead line by about seven months... Any chance of an update?

Well Scorpion, as you can see, we implement new technics as we go and learn them, thus it's really impossible to give any clue, we just don't know Cry
Just so much, I'm back at work on the night stuff after being side-tracked by other stuff for...err..7 month. 8)

That's a render of the Bf110G-4 nightfighter cockpit in it's current state.
The lights and shadows in the game are not exactly as in the render but close.
Here is an older pic in the game:
Note the geometry and texturing has improved since then:)
The "static" shadowing in the final version should be close to those in the render above.

Hey, I like the Fraulein, nice touch!  Gotta have a great graphics card for that detail to refresh smoothly.

Back on topic - anyone working on adding the P-61 black widow to CFS3?  That was a great interceptor.  Another cool plane would be the Focke Wulf Ta 154, Moskito?

Also, why hasn't anyone released an ME 163?  The HE 162, while it looks good is too flimsy.  I like the 163 tactics against bomber formations.  That took some cojones!

If I wanted to model my own A/C is the software available?

Yep, the modelling software is here
http://www.discreet.com/products/gmax/
and the modelling guide and required plugins here:
http://microsoftgamesinsider.com/CFSInsider/default.htm?nc=1
That's for making the 3d model.
you will need extra software for the paint and flight dynamics.
however, way to go until you can paint your creation Wink

Mathias, you'll notice that Woody asked you that, not me. Wink But I'd also like a Lancaster, ever since Hagar told me you get four guns in the back!  Screw the Fortress!  Although CFS3 gunnery is crappy at best, but there's still the Grand Slam!  Though lacking good looks, that Lancaster is the coolest bomber ever! Grin

Mathias, so long as you're remaking the Zestoerer, I have a suggestion.  By and large, the 110 pleased every aspect that I look for in aircraft, except maybe for a few missing details in the model, nothing that Microsoft did a better job on.  But my big gripe is just how painfully boring the custom paint schemes are; they're all the same!  My suggestion is to (surprise!) spice up the configurable skins.  Example: Instead of the same exact gray for each 110, how about give each variant a specific scheme?
  • Early-war Luftwaffe dark/light green on top and grey on the bottom
  • Present gray Wespe Geschwaderen
  • Light blue with mid blue "spaghetti"
  • Black night-fighter

And maybe some winter schemes where applicable.  None are to have aircraft specific markings, so that the letter and little nose art can still be added.  Also, while configurable skins are neat and all, they can sometimes be overpowering (usually the tail).  Not all positions have to be used.  Only two or three can be enabled (like on the P-47), whenever the four positions would prove insatisfactory.  Basically, make each aircraft a unique experience to fly, instead of just the armament being different.

I hope that wasn't a big jarble of nothing. Wink

Well Scorpion, if there where that much variation in Bf110G-2 paintschemes we shure had provided you with these, but unfortunately are the Zerstörer almost unique in their splinter camo.
The G-4 nightfighters will have more variation though, so far we have 13.
What won't happen is black early war nightfighter skins on the G model, LOL.
Basically, what isn't historically save won't make it in , that easy.
As for this paint options, me and Alessandro are no friends of these and we'll leave them out entirely in the future except one or two "generic" multyplayer skins which can then be customized.
Beside, there is quite a bit variation in the current G-2 Zerstorer paint, mabbe you want to have a look over our very own site again? Grin

Oh, sorry to here that. Tongue Oh well, worth a shot eh?

I know you guts have all those paint options, but I use only the configurable skins you guys have provided, so you can guess how spicy my 110 collection is. Tongue Maybe somethin' will come out later on.

No, I don't think Alessandro has made new skins past 1.1 release.

Whatever, below some shots of the various G-4 nightfighters.
As much variation as the Luftwaffe had to offer.

I don't think I insinuated any newer skins were made, but oh well, I'm confused! Roll Eyes Wink

Whoah!  How in the world did you get so much detail on the rudder in the last one?  CFS3 usually makes textures rather blocky.  Kind of like the weathering around the Hakenkreuz.  However you did it, nice! Cheesy

That's some pretty good variation, I guess.  Will y'all be releasing paint templates?

Reminds me to fix the Hakenkreuz Grin

don't know if Alessandro is going to release templates.
for some odd reasons, nobody wants to repaint our birds anyway so that would probably be a lost efford? Cry

What! Roll Eyes I dunno about all that.  People keep releasing repaints of a lot of "not so hot" aircraft, so how in the world wouldn't anyone want to paint y'all's aircraft?  I know I sure would, if Alessandro releases a paint template. Smiley I dont think I'd make a whole bunch, but at least two! (Probably those non-historically correct ones I mentioned!) Grin
