Anyone download the Swordfish and Anti Shipping missions?

If so, have you flow the Swordfish mission and been able to find an enemy ship?  I have flown the waypoints numerous times and found nada.  I really want to put a torpedo into Bismarck.

Any success?

The 46th Mossie Anti-ship missions are a literal blast!

I have downloaded the missions but not flown the Swordfish mission yet. However, if it's like the Beaufighter V's Convoy mission, warp to the first waypoint and then just follow that purple arrow on the tactical display and the ships are not far away. If you warp to the first way point and then warp again, you end up back at your starting location.

Haven't seen the purple arrow but maybe I wasn't looking to closely so I will give it another shot tonight.  Yes, I think its alot like the Beaufighter mission.

Speaking of the Beaufighter, is there any way to add rockets or torpedos?

As of the Bismark, I have the ship files, is it just not included in the mission plan?  If not, can it be added?

I've flown the missions and haven't seen hide nor hair of any enemy vessels.  Have you noticed any problems as you try to land on the carrier afterwards?  I find that on final the deck seems to drop drastically and I end up crashing.  I don't so much mind that, but I would like to find that bloody target!!!!!

Well, the trick is to don't forget to install the GroundCrew Ships.  When you download the files, there a little installation programs contained within each that copy the files to the right directory.  Once I ran those I was set.

The Swordfish missing is fun but if you want to have some real fun, install the Mossie Mission Pack and get the Douglas A-26 intruder and substitute it for the Mossie.  The intruder carries more rockets and two torpedos.  There are three A-26 planes that you can download.  I have had the most success with the one labeled 3un_j_1d (or something like that).  The 75 mm cannon in the nose packs a powerful punch!

Hi

Can-Sapper - that was the compromise worked out by the skilled in the community to enable planes to land on carriers at all.

At a certain distance out the model changes to have the deck on the sea - and you can land.  Set your approach for sea level - not the deck!  (You also get some over-run too  Wink).

Because of the way CFS3 was designed, it is not possible to have a carrier deck sticking up out of the water. The solution was to have a carrier that looks right from a distance, but once you get close, the deck drops to ground (or sea in this case) level.
The way to land on is to line up on the bottom of the carrier, not the deck. You are landing at sea level, not 50ft up. Look to land as close to the back of the ship as you can and you will need to almost stall onto the deck because it is so short, you will run off the other end. Remember you have no arrestor hook in CFS3. Hit the brakes as soon as you are down and cut the throttle and you should just about get away with it Wink

Tks for the advice about landing at sea level, I'll try that.  As for the ships, I'd loaded all the ships at the beginning and they haven't appeared.  Only British ships, not a Jerry to be found.  Maybe they ran away???
