I have a problem (evidently). Not only can I not connect in the Zone, I can't connect on anywhere. I tried to connect manually in the FS9 multiplayer window with an IP address, but when I put in an IP and hit search, nothing happens. I run Norton firewall 2003, but its disabled when I fly, as well as WinXP firewall. This problem just happened, probably in the last week, its been that long since I tried to fly online. I tried doing a system restore, but to no avail. I can connect to teamspeak and talk and hear, I can chat with msn messenger, and other online activities, so I figure its a problem with FS9. Is there a cfg file in FS9 that controls multiplayer or something? Please help if you have experience in these matters.

The XP firewall HAS to be turned off.
Are you going through a router?

No router, just an external cable modem with a Realtek 10/100 fast ethernet NIC pci card.

Hi mate,

I had the same problem a couple of months ago,

Try downloading the latest network server address for the network you are trying to connect to.

IVAO or VATSIM, both networks can be accessed through ServInfo, click on the button that downloads the ippdr.txt file to your HDD. Then put this new file in your Squawkbox directory and try again.

Hope it helps

Hi, Smiley

Are you running through FSHost? One of the main problems of connecting with FS9 is the port situation. Check which port you are using to connect to other players, and to host. Caused me all sorts of problems to start with but ok now. Cheesy

Hi,  Wink

Further to the last post, I have just checked my Multiplayer settings and I connect on port 23455, and host on 23456. These are found on your multiplayer page, click Open Multiplayer session, click Client Settings.
Hope this helps Smiley Smiley Smiley
