Okay, i'm taking flight lessons in real life so naturally, i want FS2002 to be as realistic as possible.  I already have the traffic sent to 100%, and i still am unhappy with the amount of traffic flying VFR.  Also, is there anyway to get aircraft to actually fly the pattern to land, or maybe touch and goes? I am really disheartened that microsoft did such a lousy job implementing traffic.  Also, i have looked into "Ultimate Traffic" and i am dissapointed that microsoft is trying to make money on an improvment to a shotty half hearted job.  Even with that $30 dollar program, do airplanes fly the traffic pattern? or still use the straight in approach, IDK they never mentioned it so i'm assuming the latter.  Anyways, is there some kind of file i could edit to increase the amount of traffic above the highest possible setting?  Thanks

Hello thief. There is a different program that was developed by ProjectAI.
First, make a folder on your desktop that says, "ProjectAI".
1.Go to http://www.projectai.com/.
2. Click on "official files".
3. Click on "PAI Installer & Special packages".
4. Now click on "Download the PAI Installer".
5. Scroll down and accept the agreement.
6. Download the installer.
7. Now click on "official files" again on the left.
8. Click on "airlines" and you will now see allot of airlines. My suggestion. Download an airline that you know frequents an airport you want to go to. In my case, when I first wanted to test it, I downloaded America West and loaded Phoenix Sky Harbor. This is one of America West's Main Hubs. To test, fire up the sim, go to the airport, and you should see that airline all over the place. These files come with the flight plans, afcad, etc....

Or, load up on the American Airlines airline and you will find tons at JFK or Logan's Boston Airport.

In short.
1. Download the installer and open it up in your new desktop folder named "projectai".
2. Download an airline.
3. Click on the installer and it will be looking for an airline to open.
4. Click on the airline and the installer will run. It will install the aircrafts, the flight plans, etc....
5. Now go into the sim, and see if the airline is flying around.

Note: different times of the day will produce different amount of aircraft, just as in real life.

Also load up on the "cargo" airlines.

Hope this all makes sense!!!
Good luck and let me know how it turns out!

And if you are interested in adding general aviation aircraft to the sim you could download traffic tools here on SimV, and read the readme and create custom flightplans for aircraft...Wink

hmm, well the thing is, i fly at my home airport usually, which is a class D towered airport.  Basically, there really arn't any major airlines that fly out, just a bunch of cessna's, moony's, and a few small commuter jets.  Would this still work with those type?

hmm..probably not as well, since PAI is designed primarily for the Commercial and cargo flights.  While it will put more traffic in the general area if you have a bigger airport somewhere nearby, but from the sounds of it, you would not see any new aircraft on the ground at your local aerodrome...

What is the name/id of your airport? Have you done any adding/removing with traffic tools as of yet?

Perhaps if we have answers to both of these questions someone might be able to come up with a traffic file rather quickly for you...

Hey, I tried projectai out and it worked out well for me.  Actually...too well.  At O'Hare there is so much traffic that the aircraft have started running through each other and stopping on the runways.  I probably downloaded 1 to many airlines, but would it have any effect if I were to decrease the aircraft percentage?  thanks - Raz

Well doing that would definately remove "some" of the traffic as the traffic is set to appear at certain unknown percentages. This may not however stop aircraft from running each over.

interesting question..Wink Alway making me thinks... Smiley

hmm, okay.  The airport i'm using is in the United States, its in the state of Pennsylvania, and its in the city of Latrobe.  The airport ident is KLBE, and the name is Arnold Palmer Regional Airport.  Thanks guys

Also, i wish there was a way to make small airplanes fly at the uncontrolled airports Angry

P.S - In FS2002, do the aircraft fly anything besides the final leg of the traffic pattern? or do they also fly downwind leg, base, etc.  Also, does anyone know how i would be able to make an aircraft stay in the pattern doing touch and goes? that would be so cool

yeah there is ways to keep aircraft doign touch and goes but not entirely sure how maybe some of the ttols experts can help you out with this....

also you can make ai fly from any airport even the smallest airport but needs atc...doesnt need visual tower etc just needs the frequencies... use afcad for this..
