Here you go.......to me though, it looks suspiciously like an electric model to test some new configuration of some parts while airborne ?  ???

Nice find though......... Wink

I'm not so sure Ken, take a look at the U/C, looks right to me. I hope this is kosher, 'cos I'd love to see it fly, and where I live there could be an excellent chance for that 8)

It is definately RC.  If you look where the shadow is, the size of the plane, and of the grass, you will see that that would have to be some really big grass.

Okay good point Jaffa, but that U/C was the first thing to catch my eye, v.impressive for a model. I wonder how big she it? 8)

It's a VERY good R/C model.

However, the original Chinese Tu-4 (re-engined with turboprops and radome, etc) is in semi-retirement, and I believe is still flown for R&D and weapons platform studies.

As a historical note, the Tu-4 is not a "copy" of the B-29 as it is a reverse-engineered design.  Parts from the US built B-29 do not fit the metric-redesigned Tu-4...  If you've seen the History channel (and probably Wings) you'll appreciate the effort that went into the Tu-4 (never mind that Tupolev had actually proposed a similar heavy bomber of original design before Stalin decreed that the interened B-29 be copied).

i fly R\C, and ive seen the GT Viccy. that was big. so it doesnt really matter how big it is. i mean, i've seen a 1:3 spit too. size doesnt seem to matter- even airbus had an a3?0 that was r\c.

but even so.. it seems to lack.. weathering. and details. for an old plane, even repainted, you wouldnt expect it to be completely clean surely? And also.. why don't the wings extend over the grass? little small isnt she?

then again- very impressive. i'd love to fly that. but i love my cub. lol.
