Hi all,
a very newbie to FS2002....
I've got a reasonable machine (p4 2.6 800fsb, 128mB video)

I've almost maxed out all the display settings, but I'm not seeing any other aircraft or vehicles at any airport.

ie...all the airports look deserted! Building and trees are there, but no aircraft, etc...

In the help file it says that "no dynamic scenery is included with FS2002".... Is that right?

If so, is there a general scenery file I can get that will work with all airports?

Hi Satz, welcome to SimV. Silly question but what is your AI aircraft setting?
And what level have you got your dynamic scenery set at?

Hi Ozzy

checked my settings and they're as follows:

Dynamic Scenery - box checked and set at very dense

ATC: AI traffic - 73% (it was at 0%)...

but even then there's still no aircraft around me... tried the Hawaii take off and the Meigs takeoffs but still deserted....

Are you sure that the pilots/air traffic control, etc, are not on strike, or the weather is poor, or another terrorist warning is on the go...?

P.S. with your latest settings you should be getting a lot of ATC chatter...?
...and make sure your aircraft identities, etc, are checked so you can see them in the sky..!

Hi Satz. You say you're new at this. If you've been installing 3rd party aircraft it's possible you deleted a file named default.dp from the FS2002\Aircraft folder. If it's missing the AI traffic cannot work. This is a common problem. You can retrieve this file from Aircraft.CAB on CD-1 with WinZip.

Hi all
further to my original post...

I've now set my AI aircraft at 100%.

When I tried the Heathrow to Orly flight I finally saw other planes!!! But only two on the tarmac.

Nothing waiting in taxiways, nothing landing...etc.

Is this all I can expect?

I would highly recommend installing some Project AI airline packages.

wot's going on chum?

I run an ageing AMD K62 500mhz pc with
256mb sd ram,
16mb on board video,
8gb hard drive!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to run with display settings at minimal or the thing just freezes up.

I have aircraft AI settings turned up to 30%.
I hear chatter, and I see planes!!!

You should see/hear something, even in it's base form.

How about a uninstall/reinstall.?
