hi everyone... excuse me for my poor english...I´m from dominican republic.

I´m new here in simviation and an entusiastic aviation lover. since a lot time ago, I wanted to get a flight sim game, but , for bad lock, FS9 is my first flight simulator ( I was mising all that fun  Sad ). that means that I don´t have experience with graphics and sound settings of this game.

I want to take out the most performance as posible from my modest sistem, until I can make an upgrade.

my sistem specs are:

A-open AK-79G max motherboard.
AMD duron 700mhz
kingston PC-2700 512MB DDR ram.
128mb  n-vidia G-force4 mx 4400 graphic card ( integrated).
60GB ATA 133 maxtor hard disc.
5.1 chanels nForce sound ( integrated ).

antisipated thanks.

Hi,

Because your CPU is only 700mhz, you'll probably need to turn the settings down a lot. The Mx440 is not strong, but it's ok. Your RAM is ok.

Make sure you don't enable antialiasing in the game or in the driver settings for the video card.

try 800x600x16 resolution if its still slow.

I don't understand why you only have a 700mhz Duron,
That mainboard is for XP CPU's at 333mhz Front side bus speed!!!! (ie. AMD XP2600+)
Shocked

...Mainboard: Asus P5K-Premium, CPU=Intel E6850 @ x8x450fsb 3.6ghz, RAM: 4gb PC8500 Team Dark, Video: NV8800GT, HDD: 2x1Tb Samsung F3 RAID-0 + 1Tb F3, PSU: Antec 550 Basiq, OS: Win7x64, Display: 24" WS LCD

thanks for your recomendations congo.

I´m running with that 700mhz CPU, because I ran out of money when I brought the mainboard, and in my old sistem I alredy had that CPU.

but I have planned to change it for at least a XP 2400+ in the near future.

I had a big trouble yesterday with FS9, I was setting the graphics, and for accident, I activated an option called " 3 lineal ". and now I can´t  see the game.

I uninstall the game, and after 3 times, the problem is still there ??? ??? ???.

help me please.... Sad......

Do a search for fs9.cfg and edit what you changed in there.

My system:Intel Q6600@3.6GHz, Corsair XMS2 4GB DDR2-6400 (4-4-4-12-1T) , Sapphire 7850 OC 2BG 920/5000, X-Fi Fatality, Corsair AX 750, 7 Pro x64

If you have Win XP, it is in c:/documents and settings/Your Account Name/application data/microsoft/FS9 ......... fs9.cfg is the file to DELETE. (unless you can edit out the bad change)

The next time you run the game, it will write a new config file to replace it. Then you will have to set your settings up again.

If you do buy a new CPU, don't get the 2400+, as they are only a 266mhz chip, get one that runs at 333mhz front side bus speed to suit your mainboard.

The 2500 Barton is the weakest of them all at 1.83 ghz.
non barton 2600+ is 2.09 ghz

The Non-Barton cores (2600 and up) are actually faster in clock speed than their Barton sisters and do the job just fine for a good price.

You forget the Bartons have double the cache the thorough-breds do.
Plus their o/c capability is so great.
This is what makes them faster.
